Koren Publishers are looking for someone to join our exciting Marketing and PR Department to work as a PR Executive in Media and Author Relations.

This is a full-time position, based in Israel, working from home with a need to attend occasional meetings in Modiin and/or Jerusalem.

Responsibilities include:
Drafting press releases for new and upcoming titles
Liaising with authors and relevant partners to generate press and reviews of books
Forge relationships with traditional and digital media outlets to promote Koren Publishers, Maggid Books, The Toby Press and the work we do
Work with the Marketing & PR director in crafting and executing initiatives to further develop Koren’s brand in the English speaking world.

The successful candidate will have:
2+ years experience in PR/marketing
An in-depth and nuanced understanding of the English-speaking Jewish communities in Israel, America, and the UK.
Knowledge of Jewish publishing and relevant print and digital media.
Fluent English (Hebrew an advantage).

Themes of Hope with Dr. Yael Ziegler

It was a privilege and pleasure to be able to talk to Dr. Ziegler to help get us in the right frame of mind for Tisha B'Av.

We of course discussed Yael's new book 𝙇𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨: 𝙁𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙞𝙣 𝙖 𝙏𝙪𝙧𝙗𝙪𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙, that Megillat Eikha is the perfect tool to frame Tisha B'Av, and how the format of the Megilla purposely makes us uneasy to convey a sense of lacking.

But we also spoke about using experiences available to us to gain a sense of true loss and enhance our mourning and we found themes of hope from Tisha B'Av itself to carry us from Av, through Elul and into the Yamim Noraim.

By interweaving careful literary analysis with attention to religious themes Dr. Ziegler, in 𝙇𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨: 𝙁𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙞𝙣 𝙖 𝙏𝙪𝙧𝙗𝙪𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙, illustrates that Eikha is a testimony to the resilient faith of humans, who can persevere through adversity, emerging with a more meaningful relationship with God, with the nation, and with themselves.

She excelled in her ability to touch the hearts of her students and raise the level not only of their Torah knowledge but also of their spiritual and moral sensitivity. Tragically, Rabbanit Dr. Rock passed away in 2019 at age 48, leaving behind a husband and five children. Her lectures and writings are collected on www.avigailrock.com.
