Just imagine...
The possibilities and the improved quality of life for both Israelis and Gazans, once Hamas is finally defeated.
A peaceful, constructive educational system could emerge in Gaza, instead of one steeped in radical ideology. Real prosperity could take root, because being a neighbor of Israel has always proven beneficial, so long as you are not an extremist intent on exterminating the state and its people.
This is why I will never understand how certain Western governments, such as today’s Spanish and Irish leadership, can oppose the defeat of Hamas, an organization no different in nature from ISIS. Don’t they want a better future for both Israelis and Gazans? Even several Arab states have outlawed the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas.
To see Spain and Ireland leaderships take such a twisted, almost diabolical position, whether out of irrational hatred, foreign influence, or something else defies logic. It is strange, even disturbing. Perhaps it stems from antisemitism? Or perhaps from a desire to keep Hamas in power so that both sides remain locked in endless cycles of violence? Go figure.
All in all, what we know for certain is that the defeat of Hamas in Gaza, combined with the establishment of a peaceful, constructive educational system there, would lead to a far better quality of life for both sides, Israelis and Gazans alike. And isn’t that what we all want?
Is it possible that there are people, who are not radical Islamists, who would actually prefer to see Hamas remain in control, with an educational system teaching extermination and perpetuating endless cycles of bloodshed, rather than promoting moderation, peace, and reconciliation?
