We are now taking pre-orders for Efrat Klipstein’s ‘Downscaling of the Heart.’ Order a copy here! The book is softcover with a double flap, cover is printed with silkscreen and transparent foil.

“While the distance between the foot of the mountain and its summit gets smaller and smaller as the climber walks up the narrow path, Efrat Klipshtein marks continuous, rolling distances along a road that cannot be reduced and does not reach its destination. Having started her professional career as a geographer and continued as an artist, Klipshtein embarks on artistic journeys, mapping flora and fauna, ocean liners, star orbits, and mountainous expanses, high cliffs towering above the clouds, and roads that stretch to infinity. She indicates a place that is not quite a territory and creates a landscape that is not exactly a place. Klipshtein measures and experiences the space with her body.” Tali Tamir

Yesterday we finished the first day of printing Efrat Klipstein’s new book ‘Downscaling the Heart’, masterfully designed by Idan Am-Salem and Field Day Studio. While the book has been years in the making, it is being printed at a time where I am processing my own broken heart, perhaps one of the most painful and difficult things I have had to do.

The book is a deconstructed love letter to a former lover, composed by Klipstein, and consisting of constant measurements of the negative space between her and him. The measurements - for me - represent the unceasing attempt to understand that which we never really can, no matter how unbridgeable distances may be, we don’t easily give up.

As we flip through the book - we see these measurements spun into beautiful and sensuous sculptures and drawings. Early in my life I experienced the healing properties of art, and in this book, Efrat weaves the pain, the joy, and the distance, into a beautifully woven testimony to love.

Excited to see the results of the first wet proof for Simon Emond’s new book ‘Say My Name’, which we will soon print at Trifolio, in Verona. For this wetproof we experimented with Tritone printing, seen here on three different types of paper, without lamination / with matte lamination / gloss lamination. Next up we will make the dummy, and in March we print!

A series of Wet Proofs from some of our publications….Making a beautiful art book starts with finding the right materials - combining paper with complementary printing techniques, in order to bring the book to life. This guessing game can only be really understood by seeing a wet proof.

A wet proof is a traditional printing proof made on the actual press, using the real ink, paper, and printing method that will be used for the final production. It’s called “wet” because the ink is physically printed and still drying — unlike a digital or laser proof. It is the most accurate way to judge how your book will actually look. It also allows us to try out different papers.

Excited to announce the publication of a new book of paintings by Shony Rivnay - featuring vibrant and colorful paintings created between 2019-2025.

Rivnay’s paintings unfold as fields of movement — intuitive, physical, and deeply attuned to material presence. Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, he builds layered surfaces where gesture, gravity, and instinct guide the composition. Forms emerge and dissolve; orientation remains fluid. As stated by Naomi Lev, “The vibrancy of the colors, brushstrokes, and shapes resolve into a centered, slow-motion dance, where Rivnay’s compositions transform across the canvas like molten lava, bubbling and burning in a deliberate, measured flow.”

‘Shony Rivnay: Paintings 2019-2025’ is edited by Naomi Lev, designed by Noa Schwartz , featuring texts by Naomi Lev , Jessica Holmes , and a conversation with Jason Rosenfeld . Copy editing by Sabeena Raj Kholsa .khosla

Our 34th book in print ‘Study for Woman נפש חיה בי’ by Dana Darvish adopts tactics of gazing at the female body derived from Western art and culture, adopted in order to sabotage and puncture, destroy and rupture the very works from which they were derived. Dana Darvish’s works and installations underscore formal aspects and the power of beauty—of wounds, cuts, imperfections—that underpin her artistic endeavor. From the outset of her career as an artist, Darvish has persistently presented as one the perspective of an animal’s spirit and a woman’s soul, not differentiating between their degrees of pain, suffering or fracture due to social constructs and cultural patterns. At the same time, she highlights close analogies between a woman’s body and that of an animal, in their movement and gestures, life drive, and hidden. The book includes a beautiful text by

The special edition of ‘Study For Woman נפש חיה בי’ continues the printing of the image along the book’s edge, forcing the reader to break open the woman’s chest, in order to access the inside of the book.

The image on the cover was a very important one for Dana - it was a still from an art action by Otto Muehl in the late 1960’s associated with the story of Leda and the Swan from Greek mythology, resulting in a violent performance intended to break from traditional “bourgeois” art forms.

It involved a female model (Leda) and a male performer (Leonardo) who subjected the woman’s body to various “material” applications, including the grating of a large cucumber over the model, the smashing of ten tomatoes and five eggs on her, and placing a bottle containing a rose between her legs. Breadcrumbs and coffee powder were also scattered over her, and a large, uninflated plastic swan was placed between her legs.

As stated by Ilanit Konopony, “Darvish’s choice of this image from Muehl’s extreme performance for the cover of her book unites the woman and the animal and points to them as sharing the same fate. In this way, already at the opening of the book, she proclaims—employing the notions of citation and source—a feminist critique of society, of culture, and of the art field and its system of representations.”
