Israel’s Health Ministry says it is closely monitoring the outbreak of the rare Andes strain hantavirus linked to passengers aboard the MV Hondius cruise ship.

According to health officials, nine passengers developed symptoms, seven cases were laboratory-confirmed, and three people have died since the outbreak began in late April. Authorities stressed there were no Israelis on board and said the risk of the virus spreading globally or reaching Israel remains extremely low.

A highly classified document presented to Israeli leadership reportedly warns that Hamas is actively rebuilding its military capabilities in areas of Gaza still under its control.

According to Channel 13, Hamas is adding fighters to its battalions, producing hundreds of mortar shells, explosives, and anti-tank missiles every month, while also conducting training exercises and maintaining tunnel infrastructure. The report warns the terror group could eventually make a “significant leap” in its military strength if the rebuilding continues.
