One of the most fascinating and interesting projects in 1980s Polish music is the parody disco album by the fictional character Franek Kimono. This character combines the profile of a pleasure-loving, karate-enthusiast individual who mocks disco culture and action-hero figures such as Bruce Lee. The album features touches of disco alongside synth-pop and electronic music. Although the album was released in 1984, its artistic boldness remains relevant to this day. The singing style, characterized by its fast pace, evokes elements that were also common in Italo Disco and early rap music. This enjoyable record reminds us that parodies can be both interesting and possess genuine artistic value. Behind the character stands the actor Piotr Fronczewski.
