“Lee Nevo’s work is rooted in photography and explores the architectural, spatial, and psychological dimensions of the image. Through techniques of documentation, construction, and deconstruction, she creates a process that provokes deep observation accompanied by a sense of tension. The jury commended Nevo’s willingness to take risks, experiment with scale and site, and evoke both discomfort and curiosity in the viewer.”

דווקא בימים שבהם הכל רגיש, וכל תנועה – פנימית או חיצונית – מרגישה טעונה במיוחד, אנחנו שמחים בכל זאת לפתוח את הדלת, ולברך את אדם רבינוביץ, האמן החדש בתכנית הרזידנסי הקצרה של ארטפורט.

רבינוביץ יוצר בציור, פיסול ומיצב. עבודותיו בוחנות את הדינמיקה של הופעה והיעלמות דרך חומר, חלל ואור. בהשפעת סרטי האנימציה של וולט דיסני כמו גם האמנות האמריקאית שלאחר המלחמה, ציוריו מציגים לעיתים תצורות פסיכדליות, כאילו נחרכו מחום או נפגעו ממלחמה – ומזכירים את הנופים השרופים של מדבר סיני 🏜️

In days when everything feels raw, and every movement—internal or external—carries extra weight, we are nonetheless grateful to open our doors and welcome Adam Rabinowitz, our new short term artist in residence at Artport.

Rabinowitz works in the mediums of painting, sculpture, and installation. His works explore the dynamics of appearance and disappearance through matter, space, and light. Influenced by Walt Disney’s animated films as well as post-war American abstraction, his paintings often feature psychedelic configurations that appear scorched by heat or struck by war, evoking the burnt landscapes of the Sinai desert 🏜️

We’re thrilled to have him with us this summer - welcome, Adam! ✨

ארבעה ימים מאז שהפסטיבל הסתיים, ואנחנו עדיין מעכלות את מה שקרה פה הסופ"ש - הרגעים, הדימויים, וסרטי האמן שלא רצינו שיסתיימו 🎞️

בין הקרנות בכורה, תערוכת וידאו, שיחות עם יוצרים ויוצרות מרחבי העולם, הרצאות, מיצגים, תקלוטים ורגעים בלתי צפויים — נרקם מרחב חד־פעמי של מחשבה, רגש, והקשבה.

רצינו להגיד תודה לכל מאות המבקרים שפתחתם את הלב והעין, והצטרפתם אלינו לרגעים המיוחדים האלה, בין אם על המסך או מחוצה לו.

ועד הפסטיבל הבא— מוזמנים להציץ בכמה רגעים נבחרים מהפסטיבל.

Four days since the festival ended, and we’re still taking it all in — the moments, the images, and the artist films we didn’t want to see end.

Between premieres, a video art exhibition, conversations with artists from around the world, lectures, performances, DJ sets, and unexpected encounters — a unique space of thought, emotion, and deep listening took shape.

We want to thank the hundreds of visitors who opened their eyes and hearts, and joined us for these special moments — both on screen and beyond it.

So just before we hit play, here’s what’s waiting for you on Saturday, July 12, at Artport Tel Aviv: films, talks, and images you won’t stop thinking about ~

[ ▸ ] Writing in Images — a visual talk with Ariel Avissar on the tension between word and image.

[ ▸ ] The Flâneuse — this screening program offers different models of female flânerie: drifting through urban scenes, searching for wild nature in the city, and deconstructing the urban space into fragments of sound and image.

[ ▸ ] Behind the Scenes of “Flower” — a conversation with the filmmakers Anna Yam and Itamar Rose.

[ ▸ ] Carriers of Otherness — works that trace layers of personal and collective identity shaped by diasporic memory and imagination, offering a broader view of survival and the possibility of re-belonging.

[ ▸ ] What Photography Conceals — a program that begins with still photography — from family albums through national archives to nostalgic slides. The artists use the medium to examine personal and collective trauma, to reveal what remains outside the frame, and to spark the imagination.

סוף שבוע של הקרנות, שיחות ואירועים שבהם הגבולות בין אמנות לקולנוע, בין תיעוד לבדיה, מתחילים להיטשטש.

הפסטיבל שם דגש על יצירה מקומית שמתבוננת במציאות של כאן ועכשיו — בעזרת עבודות שנעות בין שפה תיעודית לקולנוע עלילתי, ובוחנות את ההווה דרך פירוק והרכבה מחדש של העבר, של זהות, ושל מושגים כמו אמת ופנטזיה ✨
