יש בתים שנבנו כדי להחזיק חלומות. בית ה-VDL של ריצ’רד נויטרה בלוס אנג’לס הוא אחד מהם – אדריכלות שנמתחת בין זכוכית ומים, בין פנים לחוץ, בין המציאות לבין ההשתקפות שלה 🪞
מוזמנים לשיטוט וירטואלי, הרצאה ושיחה על התערוכה בין האמן מעיין אליקים והאוצר דן הנדל על התערוכה Game of Goose, תערוכת היחיד הראשונה של אליקים בארה״ב, שהוצגה השנה ב Neutra VDL House בלוס אנג'לס.

התערוכה נוצרה במיוחד עבור הבית ההיסטורי שתוכנן על ידי האדריכל האמריקאי-אוסטרי ריצ'רד נויטרה, שהיה מהאדריכלים הבולטים במאה העשרים. נויטרה ניסח בעבודותיו קשרים ייחודיים בין נופים מנטליים וסביבות בנויות. ב-VDL, אחד המבנים האייקוניים שתכנן, באות לידי ביטוי תכונות אלו באורח יוצא דופן – באמצעות מערכת מורכבת של יחסים בין פנים לחוץ, במשחקי אור המשתנים לאורך היום, ובהשתקפויות אינסופיות בזכוכית, מראות ומים. הבית ששימש במשך עשרות שנים מקום מגורים וסטודיו למשפחת נויטרה, כמו גם סביבה ניסיונית לרעיונותיו של נויטרה, פועל כיום כ-House Museum, והוכרז כ-National Historic Landmark.
Some houses were built to hold dreams. The VDL House in Los Angeles, designed by Austrian-American architect Richard Neutra, is one of them – architecture stretched between glass and water, inside and outside, reality and its reflection 🪞
We invite you to a virtual tour, lecture, and conversation with artist Maayan Elyakim and curator Dan Handel about Game of Goose — Elyakim’s first solo exhibition in the United States, presented earlier this year at the historic Neutra VDL House in Los Angeles.

Created especially for the VDL House, a National Historic Landmark and one of Neutra’s most iconic designs, the exhibition reflects his lifelong exploration of the interplay between built environments and mental landscapes. At the VDL, these qualities are revealed in extraordinary ways — through shifting light, fluid thresholds between interior and exterior, and endless reflections in glass, mirrors, and water. Once a home and experimental studio for the Neutra family, today the VDL operates as a House Museum, continuing to embody Neutra’s vision while opening new spaces for artistic dialogue.
