רגע לפני שאנחנו נפרדות מנונפיניטו, אנחנו מפנות השבוע את המבט אל אמנית שעבורה האור אינו מטאפורה – אלא חומר של ממש. הזרקור מופנה אל טליה קינן ✨
במהלך שנת הרזידנסי שלה, עבדה קינן עם האור כאילו היה חומר חי – כזה שחודר מבעד לסדקים, מחלחל דרך שברים בקיר, או מסתנן בין שכבות הנייר. לא הארה, אלא נוכחות; לא אפקט, אלא אנרגיה.
ה“חלונות” שלה נולדו מדפי נייר שטופלו שוב ושוב: נמשחו בשמן זית או פשתן, נספגו בפיגמנט, הודבקו זה על זה כשכבות של קולאז'. השמן מעניק שקיפות, האור זורם דרכם, והעיפרון חורט על פני השטח כמו קעקוע. בעבודות אחרות נערם חול על ציורים ישנים, “קובר” אותם והופך להיות מצע לעבודה חדשה. כל דף הוא וריאציה על יסוד אחד, וכל פעולה עליו היא מחווה שקטה לחומר ולזמן.
בידיה של קינן, הנייר אינו רק נייר. הוא הופך לקיר או לחלון, שקוף או אטום, נושא בתוכו גם את פעולת היד וגם את העולם הנשקף דרכו – עץ תמר כבד פרי, עש לילה מתגנב, אבק עדין של העיר.
בתרבויות רבות נתפס האור ככוח מרפא: במסורות המזרח – כקרן אנרגטית הזורמת דרך הגוף; במיסטיקה המערבית – כהארה רוחנית השוטפת את הלב. האור של קינן נע במסלולים הללו. הוא מטייל מהחוץ אל הפנים – מציורים שהופכים לחלונות, דרך הקרנות וידיאו המטפסות על פני המשטחים ומחיות פסלים. כאן האור הוא לא רק דימוי, אלא אנרגיה מוחשית הפוגשת את החומר ויוצרת איכות חדשה של מקום, זיכרון ונשימה.

A moment before we say goodbye to NonFinito, we turn our attention this week to an artist for whom light is not a metaphor, but a material in its own right. The spotlight now shifts to Talia Keinan ✨
Throughout her residency, Keinan worked with light as if it were a living substance – something that seeps through fissures, slips into cracks in the wall, or filters through layers of paper. Not illumination, but presence; not effect, but energy.
Her windows began as sheets of paper repeatedly handled and transformed: brushed with olive or linseed oil, soaked in pigment, pressed into collages. The oil lends transparency, the light flows through them, and the pencil inscribes the surface like a tattoo. In other works, sand is heaped over old paintings, “burying” them so a new image may emerge. Each sheet becomes a variation on a single element, every gesture a quiet tribute to material and time.
In Keinan’s hands, paper is never just paper. It becomes a wall or a window, opaque or translucent, holding both the imprint of the hand and the world glimpsed through it – a date tree heavy with fruit, a nocturnal moth tracing its path, the soft dust of the city.
Across many cultures, light is seen as a healing force: in Eastern traditions, an energetic current flowing through the body; in Western mysticism, a radiance that washes over the heart. Keinan’s light moves along these pathways. It travels from the outside inward – from paintings turned into windows to video projections that climb across their surfaces and animate sculptures. Here, light is never an image alone, but a tangible energy that meets matter and generates a new sense of place, memory, and breath.
