Comment LET GO to watch my newest episode: 5 things that you need to LET GO OF in 2026 for a more confident, fluent, happy you.

As we wrap up 2025 and step into 2026, I want to invite you to leave a few things behind with me: the need to be perfect, the fear of judgment, habits that aren’t working for you, comparison, and that old story you keep telling yourself about your English.

Because here’s the truth: you don’t need “perfect” to be powerful. You just need practice, permission, and a new story.

If you want a little extra support to start 2026 feeling clearer, freer, and more confident, I’ve got two free ways to do it:

There are three different ways that the -ed suffix can be pronounced in words:

After a voiceless consonant: /t/
After a voiced consonant or vowel: /d/
After a t or a d: əd or ɪd

Can you guess what ending ROBBED has?

Did you know that these words are actually NOT pronounced with a typical O sound? Yep! That's because it's the /ɑ/ as in Father sound!

Back in the 2010s, when I taught 1:1 lessons, I met the most interesting people, executives, actors, scholars. After the lesson, they would sometimes stay a little longer, and we would dive into their worlds. Their experiences. Their stories. Told in fascinating and funny ways. (Still English practice, of course.)

And I remember often thinking to myself, gosh, I wish I could tell stories like that.

I never saw myself as a storyteller.

First, because every time I needed to tell a story, my mind would go completely blank. Nothing. Like nothing interesting had ever happened in my life.
Second, even if I did remember a story, I always felt it wasn’t “good enough” to tell. 🫣

Luckily, things changed when I started sharing more personal experiences in my coaching sessions, conversations with students, YouTube videos, and podcasts.

And the fact that people did not drop dead from boredom was a nice reassurance that maybe I am not that horrible at this. 😁

I still don’t think of myself as a natural storyteller. But at least I am not avoiding it anymore.

That’s why this week’s episode on my channel and podcast is special: I interviewed Bree Aesie, an English communication coach who helps people tell stories with more clarity and impact. You can go to my channel to watch the full video.

If you want these kinds of stories (and English lessons) in your inbox every week, comment UPDATES and I’ll add you to my newsletter where I share these stories and more personal updates each week ♥️

"Go to your" can often sound like "Go d'your" like how we hear it in this clip from The Devil Wears Prada.

Have you ever noticed it before?
