Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Tripura on September 22 to inaugurate the redeveloped Tripura Sundari temple in Udaipur, one of the 51 revered Shakti Peethas in Hindu tradition The temple has been revitalised under the Union Tourism Ministry’s PRASHAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive) scheme, with a redevelopment cost of over ₹52 crore. The state government contributed an additional ₹7 crore to the project.

Kamalpur, Sept 18: In a significant political development, 145 voters from different parties joined the Congress at the Surma Assembly under Kamalpur sub-division on Thursday. According to reports, one family from the BJP, three families from the CPI(M), and one family from the Tipra M***a party shifted allegiance to the Congress. Government employees are hopeful that Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will announce an increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) as a festive season benefit. Sources indicated that the announcement could come as a “puja bonanza” for the state’s workforce. Seven new natural heritage sites from across the country have been included in UNESCO’s Tentative List of World Heritage Sites, increasing India’s count on the Tentative List from 62 to 69 properties. The Ministry of Culture informed that with this inclusion, India now has 49 cultural, 17 natural, and 3 mixed heritage properties.
