Fire incident at Dimapur, one person charred to death, more than 100 families rendered homeless
One person was charred to death and more than 100 families were rendered homeless when a devastating fire broke out at Burma camp in Dimapur on Wednesday midnight. During the incident more than 120 thatch houses including six grocery shops were razed down.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained adding that there was no electricity in that locality at the time of the incident, fire station sources said.
Four fire tenders were pressed into service to control the inferno. The fire fighting personnel took around three hours to control the flame from engulfing the surrounding areas, sources said.
The deceased has been identified as one Asadul in his early twenties.
