Kia India have launched the Seltos Facelift and its prices start from Rs. 11 lakh ex-showroom (introductory).

With the top spec X Line variant topping at 20 lakh ex-showroom, the Seltos facelift offers unbelievable value, considering features like Level-2 ADAS, 18-inch wheels and matte grey paint.

The new 1.5L T-GDI engine also sets a new benchmark in the segment by producing class-leading output of 160PS and 253Nm. The only sore point is the unavailability of a proper manual transmission. Unlike the earlier Seltos, the new facelift also offers the turbo option in the lower HTX trim, that too with the DCT.

Of course the Seltos marks the debut of the panoramic sunroof, which was one of the biggest reasons holding it against the Seltos. It also offers a dual-zone climate control — a segment-first feature.

Finally, we have a confirmed date!

The 2023 Kia Seltos facelift is all set to make its debut on July 4, 2023! A few Kia dealerships have already started accepting unofficial bookings for a token amount of Rs. 25,000.

The launch of the Seltos facelift will take place in August, near the anniversary of Kia and Seltos in India.

The new Seltos facelift will finally offer a panoramic sunroof!!!! Other features will also include a connected dash featuring 2 10.25-inch screens and ADAS features. Expect the SUV to carry the same powertrains as the current model while the 1.5L turbo petrol will also join the range.

Maruti Suzuki have finally released the prices of the Jimny 5 door and it’s pricey!!!

With a starting price of 12.74 lakh, it goes beyond the starting price of the Thar and its more even after considering its 5 door bodystyle.

It’s surely capable, there is no taking away from it. But what we need to understand is that the average buyer of a lifestyle product like the Jimny or Thar gives equal importance to road presence as to off-road prowess. And in terms of road presence, the Jimny just couldn’t hold a candle against the Thar.

The biggest culprit is its width — at 1645mm, it is even narrower than the Wagon-R and Celerio.

The Jimny 5 door is already tapping on a very niche segment of the market and the pricing is also not playing a part in its favour.

Honda have finally taken the wraps off of their new SUV for India. And unlike the previous half-baked attempts, the Elevate is a global SUV and Honda have set high hopes with this one. Let’s dive into the details and see what all it has to offer.

Design: The Elevate borrows certain design elements from the bigger Honda SUVs and adds muscularity. It looks BOXY from all angles — from the flat front end to a straight roof line — if you like boxy designs, the Elevate would definitely appeal to you.

Interior: It breaks the monotony and brings fresh interior theme. The most notable thing? The 10.25-inch screen — which on paper feels like a big improvement over the City’s dark and dingy 8.0-inch screen. It looks premium too, boasting many soft touch materials and brown seat upholstery. At least in the images, the space looks generous.

Features: On this front, Honda could have done more, a lot more! To start with, it lacks a few features like front ventilated seats and 360-degree parking camera. Have no grouse for Honda to not offering a panoramic sunroof — our roads will only become safer without it. Level-2 ADAS is offered though and Honda will offer ADAS in all their future offerings 🤝

Engine: It comes with the same 121PS 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine of the City with a choice of 6-speed manual and 7-step CVT. The hybrid is not likely to be offered anytime soon! 🤡

What you should note: The bookings of the Elevate will open in July and the launch is slated for this festive season.

The Elevate is Honda’s attempt to boost their presence in the country. Honda have also promised to bring an all-electric Elevate SUV in the next 3 years and 3 more new SUVs by 2030.

Citroen has revealed its 4th model for the Indian market - the new C3 Aircross. It shares its C-Cubed platform with the C3 hatchback and features bold SUV design with a very prominent nose.

A few details:

Class-leading 2671mm wheelbase
4300mm length
200mm ground clearance
511 litre boot space
5 + 2 seating configuration with removable 3rd-row seats
1.2L turbo petrol engine
6-speed manual at launch, 6-speed AT to follow suit — likely to be sourced from Aisin

The C3 Aircross has the potential to revolutionise the C-segment, only if priced right. Given the 90% localisation that Citroen has managed to achieve with the C3 Aircross, an aggressive price tag is expected. In traditional Citroen fashion, it misses out on some crucial features by segment standards like cruise control, automatic climate control, keyless entry with push-button start stop etc.

I just can't my wrap around how Citroen managed to continue with the centre-placed rear power window controls!!!

It’s official : Honda ain’t going anywhere and has shed light on its future plans for the Indian market.

To start with, Honda has promised one new product every year for the next 3 to 5 years — Honda’s Vice President told ET Auto.

While these new models will constitute both new cars and variants, Honda has already announced to launch a Creta-rival SUV this year.

Secondly, Honda has also mentioned that they will also consider bringing their old popular nameplates — either as CKDs or CBUs. These could include the Civic, Accord and CR-V and if god is listening to prayers of us car enthusiasts, Honda may also consider the absolutely incredible Civic Type R.

For the environment-loving audience, Honda has also confirmed to bring an electric vehicle — details of which are scarce at this point.

Volkswagen recently revealed the ID.2all electric concept ans this is already a buzz about its India launch.

The Polo was taken off the shelves after being in the market for over a decade. It has garnered a large fanbase in India and while there are no signs of the current Polo hitting our shores, its all-electric iteration could be a sweet model for VW India.

ID.2all’s product head has shown good interest in the Indian market and hinted towards the possible launch of ID.2all in India by 2026. It will be heavily localised though, to offer good value.

The ID.2all concept is the first Volkswagen to use the front-wheel drivetrain of the MEB platform. It uses a 226PS front-mounted electric motor and offers an approximate range of 450km on a single charge.

20/03/2023

Toyota has recently revised the prices of the Hilux. While the prices of the top variants have gone up by Rs. 1.35 lakh, the base 4x4 MT now costs a whooping 3.59 lakh less than before.

New prices:

STD - Rs. 30.40 lakh
High MT - Rs. 37.15 lakh
High AT - Rs. 37.90 lakh

The revised prices make the base Hilux a no brainer choice. And it makes zero sense to shell out over 7 lakh for the higher variant. Apart from a couple of creature comfort features like LED headlights, power-adjustable driver seat etc, the High variant offers the same equipment as the base variant.
