Union Cabinet approves Ahmedabad Metro Rail Phase 2A (Koteshwar Road–Airport Corridor)

🔹 The 6.032-km corridor will feature 5 stations, 4 elevated and 1 underground.

🔹 Upon completion, the Ahmedabad–Gandhinagar Metro network will expand to 77.63 km of active rail connectivity.

🔹 Stations on the new corridor: Ashram Road, Koteshwar Prachin Mandir, Sabarmati River, Sardar Nagar, and Airport.

🔹 The total project cost, including IDC (Interest During Construction), is Rs 2,169.04 crore.

Watch | Accident of Kia car at Tramba village on Rajkot - Bhavnagar highway. Victim Kailash Barsiya, a shopkeeper was all set to leave for lunch after locking his shop 'Pooja Agro'. Watch: Operation Delta Hunt has been launched across Gujarat. The operation is also being carried out in Ahmedabad city under the supervision of the Commissioner of Police. More than 30 teams, including personnel from the Crime Branch, Cyber Cell, SOG, and local police units, were formed. These teams were deployed in areas such as Naroda, Dani Limda, Vatva, Vatva GIDC, Juhapura, and other localities...We had information that some of the people who had escaped during the operation conducted at Chandola Lake last year had returned and were living in and around Ahmedabad. Based on human and technical intelligence, more than 300 suspicious men, women, and children were rounded up. Of them, 166 individuals have so far been identified as Bangladeshi nationals who had entered India illegally and were residing here unlawfully. More than 150 others are still being questioned. Among the 166 individuals, many had obtained Indian Aadhaar cards through fraudulent means.
