Bhubaneswar to get Rs 80 Cr-Mahanadi river front project along Kuakhai & Kushabhadra
In an abstract estimate for the project along the Kuakhai and Kushabhadra rivers near Pandara in Bhubaneswar, the highest amount of Rs 54 crore has been allotted for river front ghats. While Rs 10 crore has been allotted for the ring road, Rs 5 crore each has been allotted for the floating jetty and parking.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has approved the Mahanadi river front development scheme, aimed at transforming key locations along the river into major environmental, cultural, and spiritual tourism hubs

The second phase of the scheme will develop the river front along the Kuakhai and Kushabhadra rivers near Pandara in Bhubaneswar. This will include riverbank development with safety measures, construction of ring roads and viewpoints, floating jetties, lock gates, bridges, parking facilities, cafeterias, toilets, and pedestrian pathways, at an investment of Rs 80 crore.

The work will be undertaken by the Water Resources Department of the Odisha government

BMC to build four-lane underpass at JVLR to ease traffic, boost pedestrian safety

MUMBAI: In a major step to tackle traffic congestion and improve pedestrian safety in Jogeshwari, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is set to construct a four-lane underpass at the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) junction. The project is modelled on the existing underpass at Metro Cinema in Marine Lines, aimed at easing vehicular movement and providing accident-free pedestrian crossings in the busy area.

The project has received administrative approval, and a consultant has been appointed to begin work soon. The underpass is expected to significantly improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety, particularly during peak hours.

This decision was among several key outcomes of a high-level meeting held on Wednesday at BMC headquarters. Mumbai North West MP Ravindra Waikar and BMC commissioner Bhushan Gagrani chaired the meeting, which was convened to address long-standing civic and infrastructure issues in the North West Lok Sabha constituency. Over 30 issues were deliberated.

One important announcement was the affiliation of Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Trauma Hospital with Cooper Hospital. A 12-bed intensive care unit (ICU) is already operational, with plans to expand it to 22 beds. गौतम अदाणी ने रोड और टोल टैक्स का काम करने वाली कंपनी को खरीदने का किया समझौता

गौतम अदाणी रोड की देखरेख और टोलिंग, संचालन का काम करने वाली एक कंपनी को खरीदने वाले हैं। इससे पहले अदाणी समूह JP Associates को खरीदने से चूक गया था। जेपी एसोसिएट्स को खरीदने की बोली में अनिल अग्रवाल की वेदांता आगे निकल गई थी। लेकिन अब अदाणी ग्रुप, डी पी जैन टीओटी टोल रोड्स प्राइवेट लिमिटेड में 100 फीसदी की हिस्सेदारी खरीदेगा।

Adani Enterprises ने इसकी जानकारी 12 सितंबर 2025 को दी। अदाणी एंटरप्राइजेज की सहायक कंपनी, अदाणी रोड ट्रांसपोर्ट लिमिटेड (ARTL) ने 11 सितंबर, 2025 को डी पी जैन टीओटी टोल रोड्स प्राइवेट लिमिटेड (DPJTOT) में 100% हिस्सेदारी हासिल करने के लिए एक शेयर खरीद समझौता (SPA) किया है।

कितने में अदाणी खरीदेंगे ये कंपनी
अदाणी ग्रुप की ओर से दी गई जानकारी के अनुसार अडानी रोड ट्रांसपोर्ट लिमिटेड 11 सितंबर, 2025 को हस्ताक्षरित शेयर खरीद समझौते के अनुसार, 1,342 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक नहीं के मूल्य पर डी पी जैन टीओटी टोल रोड्स प्राइवेट लिमिटेड का 100% अधिग्रहण कर रहा है। यह अधिग्रहण नियामक अनुमोदन और अन्य मानक शर्तों के अधीन है। यानी अदाणी समूह इस कंपनी को खरीदने के लिए ₹1,342 करोड़ से अधिक राशि नहीं देगा। इतने रुपये के भीतर या इतने में ही कंपनी की खरीदारी होगी।

इस समझौते के तहत, Adani Road Transport Limited, D P Jain TOT Toll Roads Pvt. Ltd, डी पी जैन एंड कंपनी इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर प्राइवेट लिमिटेड और डीपीजे-डीआरए टोलवेज प्राइवेट लिमिटेड से हिस्सेदारी हासिल करेगा।

अदाणी समूह ने एक से एक बड़े-बड़े अधिग्रहण किए हैं। सीमेंट सेक्टर में अदाणी ने कंपनी खरीदकर ही एंट्री मारी थी। 2022 में अदाणी ग्रुप ने होलसीम से अंबुजा सीमेंट्स और एसीसी का अधिग्रहण करके सीमेंट के बाजार में प्रवेश करना भी शामिल है। जून 2024 में, अडानी की अंबुजा सीमेंट्स ने पेन्ना सीमेंट को ₹10,422 करोड़ में अधिग्रहित किया, इसके बाद अक्टूबर 2024 में ओरिएंट सीमेंट में ₹8,100 करोड़ में 46.8% हिस्सेदारी का अधिग्रहण किया। इन अधिग्रहणों ने अडानी समूह को सीमेंट सेक्टर का दूसरा सबसे बड़ा खिलाड़ी बना दिया।

Insurance Surety Bonds for NHAI contracts crosses Rs 10,000 cr landmark

general insurance companies for National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) contracts has crossed Rs10,000 crore landmark.

Till July 2025, 12 insurance companies have issued around 1,600 ISBs as ‘Bid Security’ and 207 ISBs as ‘Performance Security’ valued at around Rs 10,369 crores for NHAI contracts.

NHAI has been encouraging the use of ISBs as an additional mode of submitting Bid Security and/or Performance Security Deposit.

ISBs are instruments where insurance companies act as ‘Surety’ and provide the financial guarantee that the contractor will fulfil its obligation as per the agreed terms.

The Ministry of Finance has made e-BG(bank guarantee) and ISBs at par with BGs for all government procurements. The ISBs, when issued, would be cost effective and provide adequate security for NHAI projects.

As India is poised to become the world’s third largest construction market, the requirement of BGs in the Indian infrastructure sector is expected to grow by 6 to 8 percent year on year basis.

Ashish Kumar Singh, CGM (Finance), NHAI, mentioned, “NHAI has been at the forefront of this transition, having accepted over 1,400 insurance surety bonds to date.

Rajendra Kumar, Member (Finance), NHAI, emphasized the strategic role of surety bonds in India’s infrastructure push, “Surety bonds represent a forward-looking mechanism to unlock liquidity for contractors while ensuring strong financial safeguards for project owners.”

While the Indian general insurance industry has seen a slow down in major segments like Health, Motor and Crop, new emerging lines like Surety did well but at present it is too small to move the needle, said Girija Subramanian, CMD, New India Assurance, the largest general insurance company in India.

“We expect continued surge in demand for health, motor, construction and surety segments,” said N Ramaswamy, CMD, GIC Re.

In a bid to further promote wider adoption of ISBs and Electronic Bank Guarantee, a workshop was organized by NHAI in New Delhi. The session was chaired by Rajendra Kumar, Nilesh Sathe, former member, IRDA.

Senior NHAI officials, industry experts and representatives of various insurance and finance companies participated in the workshop.

Adani Power on Saturday said it will set up a 2,400 MW ultra super-critical power plant in Bihar at an investment of USD 3 billion (around ₹26,482 crore).

The Adani group company, in a statement, said that it has signed a 25-year Power Supply Agreement (PSA) with Bihar State Power Generation Company Ltd. (BSPGCL) to supply power from the project that will come up at Pirpainti in Bhagalpur district of the state.

The PPA is further to the Letter of Award issued by BSPGCL to Adani Power, on behalf of North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd (NBPDCL) and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd (SBPDCL) in August.

Cabinet nod to Rs 574 crore for land acquisition in Punpun to build sports stadium

Patna: Adding to the "fast developing identity of the state in the sports sector", Bihar will soon get another stadium for holding national and international events in Patna district. The cabinet on Tuesday sanctioned around Rs 574 crore for the acquisition of 100 acres of land near Dumri village under Punpun block of Patna district to develop the sports stadium.
Cabinet secretariat department additional chief secretary Arvind Kumar Choudhary said that the construction of a world-class sports stadium and related infrastructure under the Patna division headquarters would lead to increased interest of youths in sporting activities.

The cabinet also gave its sanction in principle to a proposal of the govt regarding vesting of rights in Bihar Cricket Association by Board of Cricket Control for India (BCCI) for the maintenance of the upcoming international cricket stadium at Rajgir in Nalanda district.

The cabinet further gave its clearance to a proposal regarding the selection of Kolkata-based Creative Museum Designers for the installation of devices at three galleries of upcoming Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Science City, Patna. The agency has been selected through National Council of Science Museum, Kolkata. Besides, the cabinet sanctioned around Rs 5 crore required for the installation of devices at the three galleries — sustainable planet, astronomy and space, and body and mind.
That apart, the cabinet gave its nod to the govt's proposal to transfer 38.77 acres of land under agriculture department in Dharahara and Pothahi maujas of Punpun block to the state law department for the construction of Bihar Judicial Academy.
Besides, the cabinet gave its administrative sanction to a revised estimate of around Rs 4,119 crore for the construction of a 20.5km stretch of JP Ganga Path here.
