मंत्री पर छापा मारने गए ED अधिकारियों पर केस दर्ज, तमिलनाडु में पुलिस VS एजेंसी
Case filed against ED officials: तमिलनाडु में विधायक छात्रावास पर छापेमारी करने पहुंचे ईडी अधिकारियों के खिलाफ पुलिस ने मामला दर्ज कर लिया है। सत्ताधारी डीएमके ने आरोप लगाया कि केंद्र वोट चोरी प्रकरण से ध्यान भटकाने के लिए यह कर रहा है।

चेन्नई पुलिस ने प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ईडी) के अधिकारियों द्वारा विधायक छात्रावास पर की गई छापेमारी के आरोप में अज्ञात व्यक्तियों के खिलाफ केस दर्ज कर लिया है। ईडी के द्वारा यह कार्रवाई तमिलनाडु सरकार में ग्रामीण विकास मंत्री आई पेरियासामी और उनके बेटे पलानी सीट से विधायक आईपी सेंथिल कुमार की संपत्तियों को लेकर की गई। इन दोनों विधायक पिता-पुत्र के खिलाफ मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग का मामला चल रहा है।

एनडीटीवी की रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक ईडी ने एक साथ तीन जगहों पर छापेमारी की थी। इसमें मंत्री का डिंडीगुल स्थित आवास, उनके बेटे का पलानी स्थित आवास और डिंडीगुल के ही शिवाजी नगर स्थित उनकी बेटी इंदरानी का घर भी शामिल था। इस तलाशी के पहले विधायक के रसूख को देखते हुए तीनों इलाकों में अर्ध सैनिक बलों की टीमों ने सुबह घेराबंदी कर दी थी, इसके बाद टीम ने पहुंचकर घंटों तक तलाशी ली।

गौरतलब है कि जिस मामले को लेकर पेरियासामी और उनका परिवार एजेंसी के जांच के घेरे में यह मामला सुप्रीम कोर्ट में भी चल रहा है। इस पर कोर्ट 18 अगस्त को सुनवाई करेगा।

भड़की डीएमके
तमिलनाडु में सत्तारुढ़ डीएमके ने पेरियास्वामी परिवार के खिलाफ हो रही जांच को कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी के कथित वोट चोरी अभियान से ध्यान भटकाने की योजना बताया। पीटीआई के मुताबिक डीएमके प्रवक्ता ने कहा कि न तो पार्टी ईडी से डरेगी और न ही मोदी से।"

पार्टी द्वारा जारी बयान में भारती ने कहा कि भाजपा केंद्रीय एजेंसियों का प्रयोग चुनावी उपकरण के रूप में कर रही है। वह लगातार विपक्षी पार्टियों पर मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग का आरोप लगातार वोट चोरी की राजनीति कर रही है। उन्होंने कहा, "चुनाव आयोग का इस्तेमाल करके चुनावी धोखाधड़ी में लिप्त होने के लिए भाजपा बेनकाब हो गई है। देश इससे स्तब्ध है। अवैध वोट चोरी से ध्यान हटाने के लिए, ईडी पेरियासामी से जुड़े परिसरों की तलाशी ले रहा है।

Unnao News | उन्नाव में बिजली विभाग 41 हजार स्मार्ट मीटर उपभोक्ताओं को प्रीपेड करने जा रहा है। बिना पूर्व सूचना के हो रहे इस बदलाव से उपभोक्ताओं में खलबली है। अब उन्हें बिजली इस्तेमाल करने से पहले रीचार्ज करना होगा। विभाग का कहना है कि यह प्रक्रिया पहले से तय थी और जल्द ही उपभोक्ताओं को अग्रिम भुगतान की सुविधा मिलेगी।

जागरण संवाददाता, उन्नाव। बिजली विभाग अपने करीब साढ़े छह लाख उपभोक्ताओं के मीटर स्मार्ट करेगा। इसके लिए पोलारिस प्रालि. कंपनी ने मध्यांचल विद्युत वितरण निगम से अनुबंध किया है। अनुबंध के तहत डेढ़ साल में पूरा करने का लक्ष्य है। लेकिन इस कार्रवाई में लगभग एक साल बीतने के बाद भी केवल 41 हजार उपभोक्ताओं के मीटर ही स्मार्ट हो सके हैं।

वैसे तो लक्ष्य पूरा करने के बाद विभाग को सभी घरेेलू उपभोक्ताओं के कनेक्शन प्रीपेड करना था, लेकिन विभाग ने इन्हीं 41 हजार स्मार्ट मीटर धारक उपभोक्ताओं को प्री-पेड उपभोक्ता बनाने का निर्णय ले लिया है। जिसका काम शुरू होने के साथ ही उपभोक्ताओं के फोन पर एसएमएस से सूचना पहुंचने लगी है। जिससे उनमें खलबली मच गई है।

जिले में 41 हजार से अधिक विद्युत उपभोक्ताओं के यहां स्मार्ट मीटर लग गए हैं। जिससे उनके बिजली के बिल से लेकर अन्य सभी सेवाएं आनलाइन करते हुए उन्हें हाईटेक कर दिया गया है। यह उपभोक्ता मोबाइल पर अपडेट आदि पाने के साथ अन्य सुविधाओं का लाभ मिल रहा है।

इसी बीच बिजली विभाग ने अपने स्मार्ट उपभोक्ताओं को एक जोर का झटका धीरे से दे दिया है। जिसमें इन उपभोक्ताओं को विभाग ने प्री-पेड उपभोक्ता बना दिया है। वह भी बिना किसी पूर्व सूचना के। अगले कुछ दिनों में इन उपभोक्ताओं के यहां बिजली का बिल नहीं आएगा।

यानी उन्हें बिजली उपभोग करने के बाद उसका शुल्क अदा करने की सुविधा नहीं मिलेगी। बल्कि उन्हें बिजली जलाने के लिए पहले ही शुल्क अदा करना होगा। या यूं कहे कि नंबर से रीचार्ज करना होगा।

उसके बाद वह उतनी ही बिजली जला सकेंगे जितना उन्होंने री-चार्ज किया है। इसके लिए बिजली विभाग ने स्मार्ट उपभोक्ताओं को प्रीपेड उपभोक्ता के रूप में फीडिंग का काम शुरू कर दिया है।

विद्युत वितरण खंड प्रथम के अधिशासी अभियंता सौरभ निगम ने बताया कि हम स्मार्ट मीटर वाले उपभोक्ताओं को प्री पेड करने की प्रक्रिया पूर्व से तय है, उसी पर काम चल रहा है। अभी इसमें कुछ समय लगेगा। जिसके बाद उन्हें कोई समस्या नहीं होगी। बल्कि जितनी बिजली जलाते हैं उतने का बिल भुगतान अग्रिम कर सकेंगे।

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has achieved a major milestone in its Rs 515.16 crore water supply project with the breakthrough of a tunnel boring machine (TBM)-driven segment linking Powai reservoir to Ghatkopar.

Spanning 4.4 km, the tunnel will connect the high-level reservoir to the low-level reservoir in Ghatkopar, replacing the old surface network and enabling additional water supply to Mumbai’s eastern suburbs. The project, executed by Patel Engineering for BMC’s Water Supply Projects Department, began in 2023 and is set for completion by 01 March, 2027. Designed with an external diameter of 2.80 mtrs. and a finished diameter of 2.20 mtrs., the TBM section covers 2.7 km at a depth of 60 mtrs., ensuring minimal surface disruption in densely populated areas.

“On completion, the duty of the reservoir will increase, boosting and improving the distribution of water in the L ward and N ward,” a senior BMC officer stated. Steel reinforcement for RCC works is currently underway following last month’s breakthrough.

Centre approves acquisition of over 3.66 lakh sq mtr land in Cuncolim for NH-66 upgrade

The Central Government has formally acquired 36.6779 hectares of land (equivalent to 3.66 lakh square meters) in Cuncolim, Goa, for the development, expansion, maintenance, management, and operation of National Highway 66. This acquisition pertains to the Uskinibandh (Cuncolim) to Bendordem section between Kilometer 561.890 and Kilometer 570.220. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways announced this decision via a notification dated August 4, 2025.
All objections raised by affected parties during the process were duly reviewed by the competent authority, and their report was submitted to the Central Government. After careful consideration of the report, the Centre finalized the acquisition. According to the notification, the acquired land now vests completely and unconditionally with the Central Government, free from any encumbrances, in accordance with legal provisions.

China Alarmed At India’s Rapid Border Road Upgrades In Ladakh:

India is carrying out major improvements to the Darbuk-Shyok-Daulat Beg Oldie (DSDBO) Road, its only land link to the Galwan Valley. Completed in 2019, the road is now being upgraded to handle tanks and specialised trucks capable of carrying long-range missiles, enhancing India’s military mobility in the region.

At the same time, India is constructing a 130-kilometre alternative route west of the DSDBO Road, nearing completion. Indian media reports say the new road is designed to reduce reliance on the existing route and stay out of sight of Chinese patrols, providing a tactical advantage in the contested border zone.

China claims the entire Galwan Valley, a claim rejected by India. The two sides remain divided by the Line of Actual Control (LAC), a contested boundary that saw a deadly clash in 2020, leaving at least 20 Indian and four Chinese soldiers dead.

Chinese experts have voiced strong concerns over India’s accelerated infrastructure push. He Xianqing, associate researcher at the National Institute for South China Sea Studies, said, “India’s border infrastructure … deserves close attention. It has substantially improved logistics and military capabilities in border areas. Its enhanced infrastructure capabilities may lead to risky provocations in border areas.”

Road near Delhi flyover collapses after metro wall falls during heavy rain

A section of the road near the Masoodpur flyover in Vasant Kunj caved in on Saturday after a wall collapsed at an under-construction Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) site,

Traffic police said the incident occurred near the D-6 area. The road from Fortis Hospital towards Mahipalpur has been closed, and commuters have been advised to use Aruna Asaf Ali Marg instead.

"There has been absolutely no damage to any personnel or property. The road below the Masoodpur flyover, near the footpath, has been barricaded as a precautionary measure. Restoration work has already begun," said Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director, Corporate Communication, DMRC.

In a separate incident, seven people died when a wall collapsed near Mohan Baba Mandir in Jaitpur, Delhi, during heavy rain on Saturday morning, police said,

The Delhi Fire Service had earlier said eight people died, but police later confirmed seven fatalities. One person was injured.

“Of the eight people rescued, seven — including three men, two women, and two minor girls — succumbed to their injuries during treatment. The injured person, identified as Hasibul (27), son of Khushana, a resident of Gangadhari, Jortalapara in West Bengal's Murshidabad district, is undergoing treatment at Safdarjung Hospital's trauma centre,” an officer said.

Police said the Delhi Fire Service and the National Disaster Response Force conducted a thorough search but found no other persons under the debris.
