भारतीय संस्कृति प्राचीनतम संस्कृति में से एक है, यहां सभी का सम्मान होता है। भारतीय संस्कृति ही एक ऐसी संस्कृति है जिसमें निर्जीव की पूजा का भी विधान है। तभी यहां पाषाण की भी पूजा की जाती है। आदि काल में मनुष्य इंद्र, सूर्य, चंद्रमा जैसे देवताओं की भी पूजा उत्साह पूर्वक किया करते थे।

शास्त्रों में कन्या पूजन का विशेष महत्व है। कन्या को देवी शक्ति का जीवंत रूप माना गया है।विभिन्न प्रकार की आयु की कन्याओं को देवी का स्वरूप माना गया है। आधुनिक समय में कन्या पूजन का महत्व और बढ़ जाता है। पूजन से समाज को कन्या तथा स्त्री का सम्मान करने की सद्भावना आती है।इसके माध्यम से जन सामान्य तक स्त्री के सम्मान की शिक्षा को पहुंचाया जाता है जिसमें धार्मिकता का बंधन होता है। इस प्रयत्न से निश्चित रूप से ही देवी शक्ति को समझने और उसे अपने जीवन में अपनाने का ज्ञान प्राप्त होता है। कोई भी अधर्म करने से पूर्व इस शिक्षा से अवश्य ही डरता है तथा अधर्म करने से स्वयं को रोक पाने में सक्षम होता हैकुमारी कन्या को देवी का जीवंत रूप माना गया है इसमें विभिन्न प्रकार की आयु की कन्याओं को देवी के विशेष रूप से जोड़ा गया है।

नवरात्रि में पूजे जाने वाली कन्याओं के रूप
कुमारिका – जो कन्या 2 वर्ष की होती है, उन्हें ‘कुमारिका’ कहते हैं। इनका विधि-विधान से पूजन करने से धन, आयु, बल की वृद्धि होती है भक्त का घर धन-वैभव, संपदा से परिपूर्ण रहता है।
त्रिमूर्ति – 3 वर्ष की कन्या को ‘त्रिमूर्ति’ कहा जाता है। इनके पूजन से घर में सुख समृद्धि वैभव का आगमन होता है।
कन्या कल्याणी – 4 वर्ष की कन्या का पूजन करने से विवाह जैसे मंगल कार्य संपन्न होते हैं। जो कार्य काफी वर्षों से पूर्ण नहीं हो पा रहे थे वह सभी पूर्ण हो जाते हैं।
रोहिणी – 5 वर्ष की कन्या को ‘रोहिणी’ माना गया है इनकी विधि-विधान के साथ पूजा करने से स्वास्थ्य लाभ होता है। घर में सभी निरोगी रहते हैं, कभी कोई असाध्य रोग उनके पास नहीं आता।
कालिका – 6 वर्ष की कन्या को ‘कालिका’ कहते हैं इनकी विधि-विधान के साथ पूजा करने से शत्रु का नाश होता है। कितना ही घोर शत्रु क्यों ना हो उससे मुक्ति प्राप्त होती है। शास्त्रों में कालिका पूजन का विस्तार से वर्णन है।
शांभवी – 8 वर्ष की कन्या को शांभवी माना गया है, इनकी पूजा करने से दुख दरिद्रता का नाश होता है। घर में धन-वैभव का भंडार लगता है। साधक को दीर्घ आयु तथा निरोगी काया प्राप्त होती है।
दुर्गा – 9 वर्ष की कन्या को ‘दुर्गा’ का स्वरूप माना गया है। इनका विधि विधान के साथ पूजन करने से असाध्य रोग का नाश होता है तथा कठिन से कठिन कार्य की सिद्धि होती है। इतना ही नहीं वह इस पृथ्वी पर दीर्घायु होता है, मृत्यु के उपरांत उसे देवलोक प्राप्त होता है।
सुभद्रा – 10 वर्ष की कन्या को ‘सुभद्रा’ का स्वरूप माना जाता है। इनकी पूजा से मोक्ष की प्राप्ति होती है, वह सांसारिक बंधनों से मुक्त हो जाता है।

Here is the full list of Navratri colours for 2024 and their meanings:

• Day 1: Yellow (Shailaputri)

The vibrant orange represents the lively, warm nature of Goddess Shailaputri, the daughter of the mountains. Wearing this colour radiates positivity and uplifts the spirit, signifying energy and enthusiasm.

• Day 2: Green (Brahmacharini)

Green symbolises growth, fertility and serenity. Dedicated to Brahmacharini, the embodiment of penance and devotion, it evokes peace and a deep connection with nature.

• Day 3: Grey (Chandraghanta)

Grey stands for strength and balance. On this day, Goddess Chandraghanta, known for her beauty and courage, is worshipped. The colour reflects the resilience needed to overcome obstacles.

• Day 4: Orange (Kushmanda)

Another day for the vibrant orange, which represents warmth and exuberance. Goddess Kushmanda, the creator of the universe, is celebrated on this day and wearing orange invokes positivity and radiance.

• Day 5: White (Skandamata)

White represents purity and innocence. Skandamata, the nurturing mother of Kartikeya (Skanda), is honoured and wearing white helps devotees seek her blessings for peace and spiritual growth.

• Day 6: Red (Katyayani)

Red symbolises passion, love and strength. Dedicated to the fierce and powerful Goddess Katyayani, this day celebrates courage and devotion, with red embodying the Goddess’s fiery energy.

• Day 7: Royal Blue (Kalaratri)

Royal blue signifies depth, tranquillity, and elegance. This day honours Kalaratri, the fierce form of Durga associated with destruction of evil forces. Wearing royal blue reflects her powerful yet calming essence.

• Day 8: Pink (Mahagauri)

Pink symbolises love, compassion, and harmony. Mahagauri, the symbol of purity and beauty, is worshipped on this day. Wearing pink fosters affection and connection, reflecting her nurturing nature.

• Day 9: Purple (Siddhidatri)

Purple represents luxury, grandeur, and spiritual strength. Siddhidatri, the giver of supernatural powers and knowledge, is honoured. Wearing purple on the final day signifies opulence and spiritual wisdom.

By donning these colours each day, devotees align with the divine energy of Goddess Durga, enriching their Navratri experience with devotion and spiritual meaning.
