Aghora Ta**ra is a sonic tribute to the mystical path of the Aghori Naga Sadhus fierce ascetics who walk the edge of life and death in search of truth. Inspired by a profound experience at the Kumbh Mela, where I witnessed Aghoris performing intense intention ritual, this album channels the raw spiritual power, darkness, and transcendence of their path.
Aghora Ta**ra refers to the esoteric spiritual practices associated with the Aghori sect of Hinduism. The Aghoris are ascetics who follow an extreme path to enlightenment, embracing taboo practices to transcend dualities like purity and impurity, good and evil, and life and death.
Rooted in Advaita (non-duality), Aghoris believe everything is Shiva, so nothing is impure or separate from the divine.
They reject societal norms and embrace elements others see as impure, such as cremation grounds, to overcome fear and ego. This sonic ritual, merging hypnotic rhythms, haunting textures, and mantra-infused vibrations designed to transport you to the cremation grounds where silence meets the roar of Bhairava.
