>> As part of Sewa Parv, joined Dal Lake Cleanliness Drive. During last five years, work for preservation of Dal- Nigeen Lake and in the catchment area has been undertaken in a mission mode. Dal lake is cleaner & attracting large numbers of domestic & international visitors. More than one third of Lake has been rejuvenated & vast areas were cleared from Lilies & open expanse of Dal Lake has been increased for the first time to more than 20.3 Sq Km. I called upon citizens to preserve lakes, rivers & other water bodies through community involvement:

*Demands Immediate Relief for Fruit Growers and Establishment of Fire Station in Devsar*

Kulgam, Sept 18: Former MLA Devsar and senior Congress leader Mohammad Amin Bhat on Thursday visited the families affected by the recent fire incident in Devsar and provided immediate relief to the victims. He also demanded urgent rehabilitation measures for the affected families.

During his visit, Bhat reiterated that the agriculture sector is the backbone of Kashmir’s economy and voiced concern over the heavy losses suffered by fruit growers due to the prolonged closure of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH44) following flash floods. He said the disruption has caused losses worth crores to growers who depend on timely transportation of their produce.

Urging the government to take concrete measures, Bhat suggested handing over the maintenance of the Jammu-Srinagar highway to the Indian Army to ensure uninterrupted connectivity. He also demanded the remission of KCC loans of farmers and fruit growers to reduce their financial burden.

Highlighting the fire incident in Devsar, He pressed for the establishment of a dedicated Fire and Emergency Services Station in the area, stressing that delays in response often lead to greater damages.

Campaign to Focus on Cleanliness, Service Delivery and Grievance Redressal

Anantnag September 17: In line with the national launch of Sewa Parv-2025 by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, the district-level observance of the campaign kickstarted in Anantnag today with Deputy Commissioner S. F. Hamid (IAS) inaugurating the fortnight-long programme at Town Hall Anantnag.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC highlighted that visible cleanliness, targeted service delivery and effective grievance redressal will be the central focus areas for the district during the campaign. He added that Sewa Parv is a citizen-centric initiative aimed at strengthening service delivery and ensuring measurable outcomes across key sectors.

The DC administered the Swachhta Pledge to participants and distributed uniforms among sanitation workers as recognition of their vital contribution.

The launch event also featured the live streaming of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s address, where he outlined the four campaigns –, Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan ,Poshan Maah, Suman Sakhi Chatbot and Adi Sewa Parv- nationwide.

Planned District Activities
Over the fortnight, Anantnag district will witness:
Cleanliness and plantation drives.
Awareness programmes on government schemes and financial inclusion.
Medical camps, blood donation camps, and digital literacy initiatives.
Outreach visits to orphanages and welfare institutions. Activities under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and cultural events.
