Four Injured In Shopian Road Accident

Shopian, Aug 25 (GNS): Four persons were injured after two motorcycles collided at Chotipora Crossing in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday.

Reports reaching GNS said that a collision took place between two motorcycles bearing registration numbers JK22A-7527 and JK22D-0655, resulting in injuries to four persons.

The injured have been identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Chohan son of Mohd Hussain Chohan resident of Sedow, Hilal Ahmad Mir son of Mohd Lateef Mir resident of Cheki Chotipora, Nisar Ahmad Mir son of Mohd Aslam Mir resident of Chotipora, and Suhail Shabir son of Shabir Ahmad Bhat resident of Sedow.

All the injured were evacuated to District Hospital Shopian for treatment.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident. (GNS)

*ARTO Anantnag Conducts Fitness-cum-Passing Drive, Strict Action Against Modified Vehicles*

Anantnag,Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) Anantnag on Sunday conducted a fitness-cum-passing drive in the district, officials said.

During the inspection, dozens of newly purchased vehicles, including load carriers, trucks, and other commercial vehicles, were thoroughly examined by the ARTO team.

Officials said that any vehicle found with unauthorized modifications or fabrications will not be granted road fitness clearance. “Many vehicles were found modified, lacking proper paint, or having over-height bodies. Such vehicles were not provided permits,” officials added.

They further said the drive aims to ensure road safety and strict adherence to Motor Vehicle norms, warning that violators will face action under law.
