Two De_ad Due to Electric Shock While Saving Goods from Flooded Market in Anantnag

In a tragic incident last night, two individuals lost their lives due to electrocution while attempting to salvage goods from shops during a flood like situation triggered by heavy rainfall in the Ganjiwara area of Anantnag.
The incident occurred at around 3:00 AM, when torrential rains led to severe waterlogging in the market area. Amid the chaos, shopkeepers rushed to save their valuable merchandise. Two individuals reportedly a truck driver and his conductor came in contact with a live transmission line while loading items into their vehicle.
Both victims sustained severe electric burns on the spot. They were immediately rushed to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, but despite the doctorsβ efforts, both were declared dead.
The deceased have been identified as Arshad Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Lawar Mundah, and Junaid Ahmad Bhat from Mominabad.
Authorities have urged the public to exercise extreme caution during heavy rains and to maintain a safe distance from electric poles and wires, especially in areas prone to flooding.
