MLA Veeri Reviews Healthcare Sector,
Bijbehara, September 15: MLA Srigufwara-Bijbehara Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri today chaired a comprehensive review meeting with senior health officials to take stock of the functioning and development of the healthcare sector in the constituency.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Khalid parvaiz Anantnag, Medical Superintendent Dr Mushtaq SDH Bijbehara, BMO Bijbehara Dr. mohd Ayoub and other concerned health officials.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on ongoing development works, healthcare infrastructure, availability of essential facilities and delivery of public health services. The functioning and requirements of various Primary Health Centres (PHCs) were also reviewed, including issues related to infrastructure, staffing and public convenience.
The issue of doctors and other healthcare employees remaining on strike for the last seven days was also discussed. Dr. Veeri expressed concern over the difficulties being faced by patients and stressed that the ongoing situation should be resolved at the earliest so that the general public does not suffer due to disruption of healthcare services.
Dr. Veeri emphasized the need to strengthen healthcare facilities at the grassroots level, particularly in rural and far-flung areas, so that people can access quality medical services closer to their homes.
He directed the concerned officials to address genuine public grievances on priority and ensure that ongoing development works are completed within stipulated timelines. He also stressed better coordination among all concerned departments for the effective implementation of healthcare projects.
Dr. Veeri reiterated that strengthening healthcare infrastructure, improving medical facilities and ensuring uninterrupted healthcare services for the people remain key priorities.
