Kashmir University has postponed all examinations scheduled today, said a spokesman of the varsity.

"In view of concerns expressed by students, Kashmir University has postponed all examinations scheduled for March 5, 2018 (Monday)," he said.

He said fresh dates for the deferred examinations shall be notified separately

Srinagar, Mar 04 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (PSC) has postponed the KAS examination for four papers which were scheduled to be held on Monday (05-03-2018).
An offcial Spokesman of the commission told KNS that in view of the unavoidable situation the examinations of four papers for KAS examination scheduled to be held on Monday, i.e 5th of March 2018 have been postponed and new dates for the examination of these papers will be announced seperately. *Body of one more youth found in Shopian, toll 5*

Srinagar, March 5 : Body of another civilian was found at Pahnoo Shopian taking the death toll in army firing to five.

Official sources told GNS that body of Gowhar Ahmad Lone (24) r/o Moolu, Trenz was found some 250 meters from the spot where three civilians and a militant were killed.

Gowhar, they said was found dead on the wheels of a vehicle (Wagan-R- JK01Q- 1723).

Lone, who was pursuing M.P.Ed at Nagpur University in Maharashtra, had four bullets.

Locals have already rejected army’s claims that the slain youths were OGWs and said that they were killed what they described as cold-blooded murder.

There were protests throughout the night in Shopian where authorities have suspended internet services.

Besides a militant Amir Ahmed Malik son of Bashir Ahmed Malik of Harmain, three civilian namely Suhail Ahmad Wagay (22) son Khalid Ahmad Wagay of Pinjora, Shahid Khan (21) son of Bashir Khan of Malik Gund and Shahnawaz Wagay (23) son of Ali Mohd of Moolu, Trenz were confirmed dead yesterday evening while Gowhar’s body was found early Monday morning.

Pertinently, a defence ministry spokesman had said a militant and three "OGWs" accompanying him, at Pahnoo village of Shopian were killed.

Army’s Srinagar based defence ministry spokesman Col Rajesh Kalia had told news agency GNS that militants attacked army’s 44 RR party at Pahnoo village at around 20:00 hours.

The fire was retaliated triggering off a gunfight. In the exchange of gunfire, a militant was killed, the spokesman had said.

“Body of the militant was recovered along with a weapon," he had said, adding, "Three OGWs accompanying the militant in a car were also found dead.” (GNS)

Shutdown Today , Wednesday

Kashmir’s Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and MuhammadYasin Malik has asked people to observe complete shutdown on Monday against Shopian killings.

In a statement, the joint leadership termed the Shopian killings as “gruesome.”

“We strongly condemn the killing of three civilians by government forces. We urge people to observe complete shutdown against these murders on Monday,” they said.

One policeman was injured on Monday when militants lobbed a gr***de towards police station in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, officials said.

The area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers, they said.
