With profound grief, we inform you that Abdul Gani Wani, resident of Hallan, Verinag, father of Mushtaq Ahmad Wani (Teacher) and Fayaz Ahmad Wani, has passed away after a brief illness.

Namaz-e-Janaza will be offered at 2:00 PM at his residence in Hallan, Verinag.

May Almighty Allah grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and give strength and patience to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

Former DDC Member Verinag has demanded the immediate establishment of a Wildlife Control Room at Kapran to ensure a swift response to wildlife emergencies and protect the lives of residents.

کپواڑہ: ایم ایل اے کپواڑہ میر محمد فیاض نے کلاروس اور لشٹیال کا ہنگامی دورہ کرکے علاقے میں جاری مختلف ترقیاتی کاموں کا موقع پر جائزہ لیا۔ اس دوران انہوں نے لشٹیال پلے گراؤنڈ میں جاری تعمیراتی کام کا بھی معائنہ کیا اور متعلقہ حکام سے کام کی پیش رفت کے بارے میں جانکاری حاصل کی۔
دورے کے دوران میڈیا سے بات کرتے ہوئے ایم ایل اے میر محمد فیاض نے کہا کہ علاقے میں پینے کے صاف پانی کے مسئلے کے حل کے لیے جلد ہی ضروری اقدامات اٹھائے جائیں گے، تاکہ لوگوں کو بنیادی سہولت میسر آسکے۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ لشٹیال ہسپتال کی عمارت کی دوسری منزل کی تعمیر کا کام بھی جلد شروع کیا جائے گا، جس سے علاقے کے لوگوں کو طبی سہولیات فراہم کرنے میں مزید بہتری آئے گی۔
میر محمد فیاض نے کہا کہ عوامی مسائل اور بنیادی ضروریات کو ترجیحی بنیادوں پر حل کرنے کے لیے متعلقہ محکموں کے ساتھ مسلسل رابطے میں ہیں اور جاری ترقیاتی کاموں کو مقررہ وقت میں مکمل کرنے کی کوشش کی جا رہی ہے۔

Vendors Association Holds Protest in Shopian, Raises Market Issues
Shopian, September 5: The Vendors Association today staged a protest in Shopian, raising concerns over the problems being faced by vendors at the Vendors Market. The protest was also attended by the President of the Traders Federation.Mushtaq Ahmad Nakhasi
The vendors demanded that their issues be addressed and that proper basic facilities be provided at the market. They also called for the construction of a proper structure and necessary infrastructure for the vendors.
During the protest, SHO Shopian Shahbaz Sahib reached the spot and interacted with the protesting vendors, urging them to maintain peace. He also spoke with the Municipal authorities, following which concerned officials visited the site and held discussions with the vendors regarding their demands.
After assurances and discussions with the concerned authorities, the protest ended peacefully.

*Apni Party Shopian Chief Gowhar Hassan Wani Targets NC Over Unfulfilled Promises, Calls for Protest Against Power Hike*

Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party District President Shopian Gowhar Hassan Wani today held a press conference in Shopian, raising questions over what he described as the “hollow promises” made by the National Conference during the elections.

Gowhar Wani said the National Conference had made several commitments to the people and urged the party leadership to fulfil the promises made to the public. He said people are waiting for concrete action on the issues that were raised during the election campaign.

The Apni Party leader also expressed concern over the recent hike in electricity tariffs, stating that the increase has added to the burden on the common people.

Gowhar hassan Wani invited all political parties and groups in District Shopian to come together and join a peaceful demonstration against the recent electricity tariff hike. He appealed to all stakeholders to participate in the proposed protest and raise their voice against the decision through democratic and peaceful means.

He said the Apni Party would continue to raise issues concerning the people and seek accountability from the government on its commitments.

*Anantnag Police Apprehends Four Forest Smugglers*

Anantnag, September 05, 2026:
During the intervening night of September 04/05, 2026, a police party of Police Station Larnoo apprehended four forest smugglers while they were allegedly engaged in the illegal cutting and loading of forest timber onto a tractor bearing registration number JK03M-5421 in the Matihindoo area.

The apprehended individuals have been identified as Bashir Ahmad Khari, Irshad Ahmad Khari, Shabir Ahmad Pathan and Niyaz Ahmad Khari, all residents of Matihindoo.

The tractor used in the commission of the offence has been seized as per due procedure. A case under the relevant provisions of law has been registered, and investigation has been initiated.

Anantnag Police reiterates its commitment to protecting forest resources and taking strict action against forest smuggling.
