Anantnag Police Act Against Those Who Stopped Teen’s Burial at Anchidora Anantnag

Police have lodged an FIR against those who prevented the burial of 18-year-old Burhan Amin earlier in June this year.

Burhan was the only son of his ailing parents. His body was kept stranded for hours.

After police intervention, the burial was carried out.

People have hailed the police action for taking a stand against this inhumane act that deepened the family’s grief.

An eyewitness and a local of this area said.

This family has been living in this area for 70 years. The grandparents of this innocent child are buried in this cemetery. Till today, whenever this cemetery is renovated, this family has done its part. But some people did not allow this child to be buried due to their personal enmity. When we remember the whole scene of that day, we feel ashamed of the cruelty of these people.

The extent of injustice

During the early 1990s, politicians in Jammu and started the practice of engaging people as casual and daily-wage employees. Many of them paid huge sums to politicians and bureaucrats in the hope that their services would eventually be regularized. They worked almost free of cost for the government and, in the process, ruined their lives. I’m speechless to see this official communication stating that some of them have now attained the age of 60 while waiting for the regularisation.
The regularization of casual employees — one of the promises made by the NC — must be considered a humanitarian issue.

People of Anantnag Deserve Dignity, Not Neglect:: Imran Shah

“Basic Amenities Still Missing in Anantnag — Imran Shah Urges Immediate Government Action”

Anantnag, Oct 26:: Accusing the previous regime of sheer neglect of Anantnag town in terms of basic amenities, Senior National Conference (NC) leader and District Vice President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, said it is disheartening to see the residents of the town suffering for even the most basic facilities such as water supply, electricity, and road connectivity.

Shah said that the previous government, instead of addressing public grievances, prioritised personal gains and comforts. He alleged that the PDP failed to deliver on its promises, indulging instead in nepotism and corruption. “The harsh reality is that PDP’s so-called self-rule was meant only for its own family, while their slogans were merely to hoodwink the innocent public,” Shah stated.

During his tour of Sarnal Bala, Shah observed acute shortages of essential supplies and expressed surprise that no serious efforts had been made so far to address the residents’ long-pending issues.

He urged the administration to take immediate steps for the repair of inner roads and lanes and to ensure adequate supply of drinking water and electricity. Shah assured the locals that their grievances would soon be resolved, emphasizing that the National Conference is committed to providing basic facilities to the public and ensuring opportunities for all to live with dignity and honour.

He further assured that the government would fulfill all promises made to the people.
