Bhimakunda Waterfall has a stunning spectacular natural environment encircled with lush green forest. The majestic Baitarani river provides two most beautiful and scary waterfalls called Sanakunda & Badakunda to the natural lovers. The waterfall has a terrific characteristic of imparting awesome experience to the visitors due to large vertical shaped gorge & speeding current and makes the environment smokey. Further huge roaring sound of waterfall makes the place most interesting among tourists. This waterfalls is considered as a most sacred place in religious point of view. Local people gather here during annual celebration of Makar Sankranti in large numbers. Mythology is that Pandavas were staying some time here during their religious expedition

ଗଂଜାମ ଜିଲ୍ଲାର ଚିକିଟିରେ ଥିବା କେରାନ୍ଦୀମାଳା ପାହାଡର ଶୀର୍ଷଦେଶରେ ଅବସ୍ଥିତ ମା ବାଳକୁମାରୀ ମନ୍ଦିର ଓ ବୃହତ ପାଷାଣ ଶିବଲିଙ୍ଗ

👉DETAILS: The most striking feature of the Maa Balakumari temple is that it's situated on the top of the picturesque Kerandimala hill, driving up to which is a pleasurable experience. There is a mix of ghat road driving and a final set of stairs (1272 steps) to reach the temple. May not be preferable for aged persons. Another important feature is a large rock painted as a Shivling, which can be viewed from the top.

It is one of the major tourist attractions in Ganjam and was built by the royal family of Chikiti. It's a holy place of many devotees including those from Telengana and Andhrapadesh and sees crowds throughout the year. The Maa Balakumari deity is considered to a form of Ma Durga. Makar Sankranti is a major festival here.

The temple is located at about 33 kms from the major south-odisha city of and about 210 kms from the state capital . The beautiful temple, surrounded by large rocks and boulders, full of several idols is also a picnic spot, with facility for water and other amenities.
