I play cricket 🏏 because it gave me peace.
Because when life got messy, the pitch gave me clarity.
Some people meditate.
Some listen to music.
I pick up the bat and face the ball.
From childhood till now, cricket has always been my escape —
From pressure, from overthinking, from everything.
I’ve played on streets, muddy grounds, college fields…
Sometimes with a crowd, sometimes alone.
But every time, I felt the same thing —
Freedom.
I’ve won matches. Lost many too.
But it was never about the scoreboard for me.
It was about feeling alive. About that sound of leather on bat.
About forgetting every worry, just for those few overs.
People often ask, “Why do you still play?”
And I smile.
Because they don’t get it.
This isn’t just a game for me.
It’s therapy. It’s my reset button.
It’s where I find myself.
Cricket is in my blood. It raised me. And the greatest thing it ever taught me?
Life is just like cricket, it will bowl yorkers, bouncers, and unexpected spin —
But if you stay grounded, keep your eye on the ball, and never stop playing your game — you’ll always find your moment.
Cricket saved me more than I can ever explain.
I play cricket to stay sane.
