*Budgam Police arrests 03 persons with counterfeit currency.*

BUDGAM: 23rd December 2021:

Budgam Police busted a fake currency racket, arrests three persons, counterfeit currency notes and other tools seized.

During Naka checking at Narbal, police party from Police post Narbal intercepted one vehicle bearing registration number *JK01AB/9599* driven by one *Taufeeq Hussain Khawaja son of Mohammad Akbar Khawaja resident of Baliharan Singhpora Pattan Baramulla*. During search, printed counterfeit currency notes worth *₹45,000/=* were recovered from the vehicle.

Upon questioning, the said person confessed his involvement in printing fake currency notes at his home at Baliharan Singhpora Baramulla. Accordingly, a raid was carried out at his house and during search following items used for printing of counterfeit currency notes were recovered:-
*02 printers*
*one paper cutter*
*02 Reams of bond paper*
*01 Mobile Phone*
*10 number of bond papers with printed ₹ 100/= fake currency notes*.

During sustained questioning, accused also revealed names of his two associates namely *Farooq Ahmad Ganaie son of Ab Ahad Ganaie resident of Kalsari Pattan and Abdul Hamid Ganaie son of Ghulam Rasool Ganaie resident of Burran Pattan* who were circulating the fake currency notes in the market. All of the accused have been arrested and shifted to police post Narbal where they remain in custody.

A case FIR Number *262/2021* under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Magam and further investigation into the matter is going on. More arrests and recoveries are also expected.

The admistration of Budgam has turned deaf ears to the people who have requested always them to stop illegal mining in Main Town Budgam at patwaw, jahama, Dardpora pallar etc. Which has become nuisance and inconvenient for the people of Bazar mohalla Ganie mohalla Ustad mohalla Chana mohalla and hakinpora Budgam. This illegal mining which is being operated by some influential criminals during night hours where police seems to be helpless to bring them under proper law. The DMO BUDGAM who is being informed time and again by locals about this illegal mining but all complaints are useless, the employes in GEOLOGY AND MINING Department seems to be involved with this land mafia as there inactive ness is it self a proof.we requested the vigilance department to have a deep audit to the employes of Geology and mining which is totally suspicious. As the vigilance department could see themselves at the mining sites of patwaw, jahama, Dardpora, Rizwan, pallar. how much material have been excavated but no royalty is being paid by these mining mafias.the topographic visual from videos have enough evidence of lazines of concerns departments

Budgam municipality dump site is endangering the whole agriculture of Budgam as the said department is dumping all district garbage which is washed in a canal and stored in agriculture land of Budgam. It is a point of concern about which so many times ppl have raised their voice but all in vain.
