*Historic Achabal spring rejuvenates, returns to its original state*

Achabal, Feb 21 (KNO): The historic Achabal garden spring, which had dried up for the first time in history, has rejuvenated as it has returned to its original state again.

Eyewitnesses told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the water flow has been restored to its former state.

"It is heartening to see the spring replenished. I believe it is due to prayers. Even though the temperature was high, and no rain or snowfall was expected in the Valley, this revival feels miraculous," a local resident said.

Assistant executive engineer, Jal Shakti sub-division Anantnag, Gowhar Hussain Ganie told KNO that water has been fully restored at the spring and the supply is running smoothly. "All water supply pipelines are functioning properly now," he said—(KNO)

J&K Police should now prioritise safeguarding citizen rights”: Amit Shah

Directs full implementation of 3 new laws by April 2025

Srinagar: In a significant statement, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said that Jammu & Kashmir Police should now prioritise safeguarding citizen rights after making significant progress in controlling terrorism and improving security conditions.

In a post on X,mUnion Home Minister Amit Shah said that J&K police should now safeguard citizen rights.

Shah said that he reviewed implementation of three new criminal laws in J&K and directed their full implementation in UT by April 2025.

The meeting was attended by LG Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, top officials of the Union Home Minister, J&K Home Secretary and J&K DGP.

DC Budgam Initiates Solarization of major Government Buildings Under PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
More than 90 government buildings of Budgam to be connected with solar power in Phase-1st.

Budgam, February 17:– Today District administration Budgam in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JAKEDA), Department of Science & Technology, has launched the Solarization of Government Buildings program in District Budgam under the PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna.
The initiative which aims to make government buildings self-reliant in energy and reduce monthly electricity bills by shifting to solar power started from DC office complex buildings both old and new at the 50 KW each .
The solarisation of DC Office complex buildings was inaugurated by Akshay Labroo (IAS), District Development Commissioner Budgam. More than 90 government buildings across District Budgam shall be covered under this in next 3 months.
On the occasion, GM DIC Budgam ,ACR Budgam , CPO Budgam ,Executive engineer KPDCL , AEE JAKEDA and officers of JAKEDA were present .
Speaking at the event, the DC highlighted the benefits of the scheme, emphasizing its role in reducing the financial burden of electricity bills for government institutions, decreasing reliance on conventional energy sources, and promoting environmental sustainability.
He stressed upon the agency to ensure the smooth and timely implementation of the project while maintaining efficiency of the project.
The DC said , in District Budgam, all major government buildings have been identified for solarization. These buildings will be connected to the utility grid through the Net-Metering mechanism facilitated by KPDCL, ensuring accurate energy accounting through solar power.
