This variety has been approved by the Central Varietal Release Committee for cultivation under timely sown irrigated conditions in the northeastern states of India, including Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Assam, and the northeastern hill states. The variety has an average yield of 44.57 quintals per hectare with a production potential of 74.93 quintals per hectare. Given the rising incidence of diabetes, barley consumption is being seen as highly beneficial, with barley serving as a key ingredient in many multigrain products available in the market. Barley intake is considered crucial for maintaining good health.
