रामकृष्ण हरी!! 🙏🏻💛
मागच्या महिन्यात फलटणमध्ये वारी अनुभवली. विठ्ठलाच्या भेटीच्या ओढीने शेकडो किलोमीटर पायी चालणारे वारकरी. प्रत्येकाच्या हृदयात वसलेली माऊली दिसत होती. तिथल्या रस्त्यांवर विठ्ठलाच्या नामघोषाने एक वेगळीच ऊर्जा जाणवत होती. 🚩
आपल्याला थोडं चाललं तरी पाठ-पाय दुखायला लागतात, आणि इथे वारकरी रोजचा पदक्रमणाचा प्रवास उत्साहाने सुरू ठेवतात.
याच वारीच्या वाटेवर Iodex चा स्टॉल दिसला, जिथे वारकऱ्यांना मसाज आणि दुखण्यातून आराम मिळण्यासाठी मदत केली जात होती. थोडा आराम मिळाल्यावर हे वारकरी पुन्हा नव्या उत्साहाने विठ्ठलाच्या नामघोषात पुढच्या प्रवासाला निघताना दिसले. 💛
वारकऱ्यांच्या या प्रवासात त्यांना थोडा दिलासा देणारा Iodex चा हा उपक्रम मनापासून सुंदर वाटला.

प्रवासात अनेक स्थानिक पदार्थ चाखायला मिळतात. मी जेव्हा जेव्हा कुठल्याही गावात जाते, स्थानिकांनी सुरू केलेल्या होमस्टे मध्ये राहते तेव्हा त्या गावाचे पदार्थ खाण्याचा मी आवर्जून आनंद घेते. मालवणमध्ये देवली गावात असताना शेतात भात लावणी सुरू होती. त्याच शेतातील तांदळापासून बनलेला गोड पदार्थ मला त्यांनी प्रेमाने खायला दिला. होमस्टे मध्येही नाश्त्याला वालय या दुर्मिळ होत चाललेल्या भाताची पेज प्यायला दिली आणि सोबत कुळीथाच्या पीठाचे डांगर दिले. डांगर आणि खसखसा हे दोन्ही पदार्थ माझ्यासाठी नवीन होते आणि अगदी चविष्ट होते..

One of the best parts of travelling is getting to taste local food. Whenever I visit a village and stay at a homestay run by local people, I make it a point to enjoy the traditional food of that village.

While staying in Devli village near Malvan, Sindhudurg, rice planting was underway in the fields. The locals lovingly served me a sweet dish made from rice grown in those very fields. At the homestay, I also had Valay rice porridge, made from a rare traditional variety of rice, along with Dangar made from horse gram flour.

Both Dangar and Khaskhasa were completely new to me—and absolutely delicious! This is what makes exploring Konkan village food and local food traditions so special. 🌾❤️

कोकणातील या मंदिरात जपली आहे दुर्मीळ 'काविकला'! 🎨🙏
सिंधुदुर्ग जिल्ह्यातील निसर्गरम्य असनिये गावातील माऊली देवी मंदिरात गेल्यावर फार प्रसन्न वाटतं. देवीचे दर्शन घेत असताना मंदिरातील पौराणिक चित्रं पाहून पुराण कथांचे आणि महाकाव्यांचे स्मरण होत राहतं. हा एक खूप सुंदर अनुभव आहे. 
मंदिराच्या भिंतींवर काविकला या पारंपरिक कलाशैलीत दशावतार, गणपती, देवीची रूपं आणि रामायणातील ताडका वध, सीताहरण यांसारखे प्रसंग साकारलेले आहेत. काव, चुना आणि आंबवलेल्या गुळापासून तयार होणाऱ्या नैसर्गिक रंगांनी रेखाटलेली ही कला आज दुर्मीळ होत चालली आहे.
या मंदिराची ओळख मला पहिल्यांदा सावनी आणि चैतन्य मळीक यांनी करून दिली होती. यावेळी पावसाळ्यात हे मंदिर मी बागायतदार फार्मस्टे मध्ये राहून पाहिले.

पावसापासून घराचं संरक्षण करण्यासाठी कोकणात आजुबाजूच्या परिसरात मिळणाऱ्या वस्तूंचा वापर केला जातो. 🌧️🌴
ताडपत्री न वापरता कधी अशी झावळी वापरली जाते तर कधी गवताने घर शाकारले जाते. 
पाऊस आणि निसर्गासोबत जुळून घेतलेली ही पद्धत बऱ्याच घरांमध्ये अजूनही जपली जात आहे. ❤️

Before plastic sheets, Konkan had its own rainproof solution. 🌧️🌿
This traditional cover, called Zhadi, is handwoven from dried coconut fronds and fixed along the roof to keep rainwater away from the mud walls. It protects the house naturally while preserving the peaceful sound of rainfall—without the harsh noise of tin sheets or tarpaulin.

कोकणातील असं गाव, जिथे विहिरींची गरजच पडत नाही! 💧🌴
सावंतवाडी तालुक्यातील असनिये गावात तब्बल ८०+ बारामाही नैसर्गिक झरे आणि अनेक मातीची तळी आहेत. त्यामुळे वर्षभर पाणी या गावात असतं. हे झरे केवळ गावाची तहान भागवत नाहीत, तर माड-सुपारीच्या बागांना संजीवनी देऊन गावाच्या अर्थव्यवस्थेलाही बळकटी देतात.
या भटकंतीत मला सेंद्रीय पद्धतीने वाढलेली, घडावरच पिकलेली लोखंडी जातीची केळी खायला मिळाली... आणि त्यानंतर शहरातली केळी खरंच फिकी वाटू लागली!
खरी श्रीमंती असणं म्हणजे निसर्ग, पाणी आणि स्वतःची उत्तम दर्जाचे अन्न पिकवणारी माती असणं. ❤️

Asniye Village in Sawantwadi, Konkan (Maharashtra) is home to 80+ perennial natural springs and numerous traditional ponds, keeping the village water-rich throughout the year. These natural springs don't just provide drinking water—they also nourish coconut and areca nut plantations, supporting the village's agriculture and local economy.
During my visit, I tasted organically grown Lohandi bananas, naturally ripened on the plant. After that, the bananas we usually buy in cities honestly felt bland in comparison. 🍌
To me, true wealth is having abundant water, fertile soil, thriving biodiversity, and the ability to grow nutritious food. ❤️

🌿 कोकणातील हे गाव म्हणजे Plant Lovers साठी स्वर्गच! 🌿
दापोलीजवळील गव्हे गावात घराघरात नर्सरी आहेत. इथे मी straw म्हणून वापरता येणारा Golden Bamboo पाहिला, नैसर्गिक टॅटू उमटवणारा Fern पाहिला आणि बागेत जाऊन ताजी फळे खाण्याची मौजही केली.. 🍍🥭🌱
कैलासवासी अरविंद अमृते यांनी गावातील तरुणांना कलम बांधणी आणि नर्सरी व्यवसायाचे प्रशिक्षण दिले आणि संपूर्ण गावाचे चित्रच बदलून टाकले. शहराकडे होणारे स्थलांतर थांबले आणि गाव समृद्ध झाले.
हा सुंदर अनुभव मला दापोलीतील Amrutes' Nisarga Sahavas मध्ये राहून घेता आला. 🌿

Welcome to Gavhe, a unique village near Dapoli in Konkan that's nothing short of paradise for plant lovers. Here, I discovered Golden Bamboo that can be used as a natural straw, a fern that leaves temporary tattoo-like impressions, and gardens full of delicious fruits waiting to be tasted. 🍍🥭🌱
The late Arvind Amrute trained local youth in plant grafting and nursery management, transforming the village economy and reducing migration to cities. Today, Gavhe thrives through its love for plants and nature.
I experienced this beautiful side of Konkan while staying at Amrutes' Nisarga Sahavas in Dapoli.
