राजौरी जिले के लिए यह अत्यंत गर्व और सम्मान का विषय है कि सुंदरबनी निवासी श्री तरुण वर्मा को बजरंग दल, जम्मू-कश्मीर एवं लद्दाख का प्रदेश अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया है। उनकी नियुक्ति से पूरे राजौरी जिले, विशेषकर सुंदरबनी क्षेत्र में खुशी की लहर है।

Weather Advisory Issued for Nowshera Sub-Division

The Nowshera Administration has issued a public weather advisory in view of adverse weather conditions affecting various parts of the sub-division. Continuous rainfall has increased the risk of landslides, mudslides, and fallen trees, leading to possible road blockages and disruption of normal movement.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant, avoid traveling through vulnerable or affected routes unless absolutely necessary, and strictly follow instructions issued by the district administration and emergency services. People living in landslide-prone areas are requested to stay alert and report any emergency without delay.

*PUBLIC ADVISORY*

In view of the Red Alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Srinagar, forecasting very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and the possibility of flash floods and landslides, from 12:30 AM to 2:00 PM on 21 July, all residents of Nowshera Town are hereby advised to exercise utmost caution.

The general public is requested to:

* Remain indoors and stay at safe locations during the alert period unless travel is absolutely essential.
* ⁠Strictly avoid visiting or crossing rivers, nallahas, streams, and other water bodies, as water levels may rise suddenly.
* ⁠Residents living in the vicinity of rivers, nallahas, or other flood-prone areas are advised to shift to safer locations immediately and remain vigilant until the weather conditions improve.
* ⁠Report any emergency or untoward incident to the nearest administrative or emergency response authority without delay.

The cooperation of all citizens is solicited in ensuring public safety. Kindly remain alert, follow official advisories, and do not circulate unverified information.

Repeated Vandalism Causes Major Damage to Water Supply Infrastructure at Qasba Tain

Qasba Tain, Rajouri: It is hereby brought to the notice of the higher authorities and the general public that significant damage has been caused this evening to the public water supply infrastructure at the 1.50 Lac Gln Ground Service Reservoir (GSR), Qasba Tain.

According to preliminary reports, unknown individuals have vandalized two GM Gate Valves of 80 mm and 50 mm size installed at the site. This act has directly affected the operational functioning of the water supply system serving the area.

Alarmingly, this is not an isolated incident. Similar acts of vandalism have occurred on four previous occasions, resulting in extensive damage to government infrastructure and causing substantial financial losses to the public exchequer. The repeated targeting of essential water supply assets raises serious concerns regarding the safety and security of critical public infrastructure.

Due to the latest damage, the water supply to Ward No. 3 shall remain suspended until the damaged valves are replaced and the system is restored to operational condition. The concerned department has initiated the process for arranging the necessary replacement materials and carrying out repair works at the earliest possible time.

Authorities Requested To

Conduct an immediate investigation into the incident.

Identify and take strict legal action against the individuals responsible.

Enhance security arrangements at the GSR site and other vulnerable infrastructure locations.
Prevent recurrence of such acts that disrupt essential public services.

Appeal to the Public
The public is requested to cooperate with the authorities and report any suspicious activity near water supply installations. Protection of public infrastructure is a collective responsibility, and any damage to such assets ultimately affects the entire community.

Press Note

A review meeting under the chairmanship of Shri Pritam Lal Thapa, JKAS, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nowshera, was held today at the Conference Hall of PWD Guest House, Nowshera, to discuss various developmental and public welfare initiatives.

The meeting was attended by officers from Civil Administration, Police, Education, Health, Forest, Jal Shakti, PWD, Agriculture, Horticulture, Municipal Committee, Social Welfare and other line departments.

During the meeting, the following agenda items were reviewed in detail:

Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan – All departments were directed to intensify awareness campaigns and ensure active public participation during the 100-day special campaign.

MY BHARAT Portal Registration – Special registration drives for youth were planned through educational institutions and field functionaries to maximize enrolment.

PMFBY & AgriStack Registration – Agriculture Department was instructed to ensure 100% awareness and registration of eligible farmers under the schemes.

Birth Anniversary Celebration of Brigadier Mohammad Usman – Necessary arrangements were reviewed, and departments were directed to ensure smooth and dignified conduct of the commemorative programme.

Removal of Encroachments – Municipal Committee, Revenue, Police and PWD departments were instructed to launch coordinated drives for removal of illegal encroachments from roads and streets in Nowshera Town.

Preparedness for Rainy Season – Concerned departments were directed to ensure proper drainage, desilting of nallahs, availability of emergency response teams, restoration of essential services, and preparedness to tackle any weather-related emergencies.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination, timely ex*****on of assigned responsibilities, and regular monitoring to ensure effective implementation of all decisions. He directed all concerned officers to complete the assigned tasks within the stipulated timelines and submit compliance reports.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the Chair.
