DC Bandipora reviews District CAPEX Budget

Focus on performance, transparency, and timely completion of projects: Indu Kanwal Chib

Bandipora, November 07: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, on Friday chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the implementation of various schemes across different sectors in the district.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the Financial and Physical Progress Report under the District CAPEX Budget 2025-26 (UT Component) of different departments. She also reviewed the financial progress department-wise, emphasizing timely completion of works, effective utilization of funds, and strict adherence to quality standards in all ongoing and upcoming developmental projects.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of the progress under key government schemes being executed by different departments. The officers presented updates on physical and financial achievements, highlighting the status of ongoing works and the steps taken to resolve bottlenecks.

During the meeting, the DC emphasized the need to ensure timely completion of all developmental works and directed officers to maintain transparency and accountability at every level. She stressed the importance of close monitoring and field verification to ensure quality and adherence to project timelines.

The Deputy Commissioner directed departments to adopt a result-oriented approach and focus on schemes that have a direct impact on the public, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, education, health, and social welfare. She urged officers to strengthen inter-departmental coordination to accelerate progress and achieve set targets within the stipulated timeframe. She directed officers to promptly address issues causing delays and submit regular progress reports.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer Mohammad Maqbool Lone, ACD Bandipora, Executive Engineers, Block Development Officers, and heads of various line departments.

The Department of Information and Public Relations, J&K announces the launch of an online essay writing competition on the theme- *"The Evolving Nature of Media in the Age of Artificial Intelligence."*

• The competition is open from *03rd November till 11th November 2025.*

• The competition is open to participation under two categories:

1. *MEDIA STUDENTS: Current students of Media Studies/ Journalism/ Mass Communication enrolled in an educational institution in Jammu & Kashmir.*

2. *MEDIA PROFESSIONALS: Media professionals presently working in media organisations based in Jammu and Kashmir.*

*Plantation Drive under Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas held at HSS Mantrigam*

Bandipora, November 04: A plantation drive was successfully carried out at Government Boys Higher Secondary School (HSS) Mantrigam under the aegis of the Social Forestry Range Bandipora to celebrate Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas.

The event was held with the theme of promoting environmental conservation and preserving cultural heritage. The plantation drive aimed to raise awareness about the importance of environmental protection and the significant role of tribal communities in conservation efforts.

*District Administration Bandipora Felicitates Officers for Exceptional Performance under Aadi Karmayogi Programme*
*DC Inaugurates ‘Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan’ — 15-Day Awareness and Benefit Saturation Campaign*

Bandipora, November 03 : The District Administration Bandipora today organised a felicitation ceremony under Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh to acknowledge the exceptional performance of officers and field functionaries under the Aadi Karmayogi Programme. The event was held at the Mini Secretariat Bandipora under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner inaugurated the ‘Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan: Awareness and Benefit Saturation Camp’, a 15-day campaign being organised across the district to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Sahib. The campaign aims to promote saturation of government welfare schemes, enhance awareness among tribal communities, and strengthen participatory governance through active community engagement.

During the felicitation ceremony, the DC lauded the district’s achievement of national-level recognition for outstanding performance under the Aadi Karmayogi initiative. “I had already emphasized at Chitternar that if you work hard in a smart way, your work will always be recognized. Keep working with sincerity, and success will come midway,” she said. The DC urged officers to continue their dedication towards inclusive development and invited innovative suggestions for strengthening the Village Development Programme under Aadi Karmayogi.

On the occasion, a presentation by the District Programme Manager, NHM, highlighted how the Aadi Karmayogi Village Development Programme was compiled reflecting 17 ministries, encompassing vision formulation, situation analysis, village mapping, transect walks, Seva Kendras, painting competitions, gram sabhas, and awareness activities such as Run for Awareness and Candle Marches. The district’s comprehensive and participatory approach, he said, turned the initial vision into a successful model of tribal development.

Similarly, the Block Development Officer, Gurez, presented the block-level progress, showcasing activities like village orientation, wall paintings, Seva Kendras, special gram sabhas, and identification of infrastructural gaps under the programme. The Deputy Commissioner directed that each tribal village should have one village map painting displayed prominently and ensured that all tribal populations are included in the fortnight-long campaign under the Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan.

Among others, the event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Shabir ahmad Wani; Chief Planning Officer Bandipora, Mohammad Maqbool; District Programme Officer ICDS, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Education Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, AD FCS&CA, District Information Officer and other district and sectoral officers, besides representatives from various departments and field functionaries.

MLA Bandipora Visits Gulshan Chowk, Inspects Key Development Works

Bandipora, November 3: Hon’ble MLA Bandipora, Nizamuddin Bhat, on Monday visited the historic Gulshan Chowk Bandipora to review the ongoing work on the multi-level car parking facility.

During the visit, the MLA interacted with shopkeepers, vendors, and auto drivers, listened to their concerns, and took up the issues with the concerned authorities for immediate redressal.

Meanwhile, the MLA also inspected the Water Supply Scheme at Village Onagam-A, where he reviewed different components of the scheme. He further inspected the ongoing macadamization works in the area on the occasion.

He was accompanied by the EXEN PHE, Executive Officer Municipal Council, AEE R&B, and other field officials from the concerned departments.
