Bengaluru, Oct 10: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has asked officials to improve last-mile connectivity to metro stations to reduce traffic congestion. He suggested deploying more feeder buses for commuters. Speaking at the first meeting of the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), he also emphasized proper waste management, better roads, wider footpaths, and improved civic amenities. All five municipal corporations must coordinate with GBA for smooth governance.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday stayed the Madras High Court order that directed the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the Karur stampede. Manila: A strong 7.6 magnitude earthquake hit southern Philippines on Friday morning, and authorities have issued a dangerous tsunami warning. The earthquake occurred about 62 km (38 miles) southeast of the town of Manay in Davao Oriental province at a depth of 10 km. An Air India flight from Vienna, Austria to New Delhi was diverted to Dubai on Friday because of a technical problem. The airline said the plane landed safely in Dubai. After a short stop for inspection, the flight left Dubai for Delhi at 8:45 am (Indian time). According to Air India, flight AI-154 was turned back to Dubai on October 9 due to a suspected technical issue. All passengers were informed about the delay, provided refreshments, and the flight continued its journey safely after checks.
