I suffer from high altitude sickness. I have started carrying pulse oxymeter with me. Around 9500 feet range, I was feeling the effects of it. This was one of the last images took at Zuluk.

This is the reason for this trip. This tragopan was quite far and did not come up. This is a highly cropped image, not the prettiest. I like to show the biodiversity of the area not just the pretty images. So this image finds a great place in my heart. This bird was also a lifer

What I loved about this sighting was how much I learnt from Debu-da. He told us that these birds are high altitude birds, but don’t leave in extreme cold. They hover around 9000 feet range. First he heard the bird at a slightly lower valley and then he predicted that it would climb up through this path. Then he influenced the other photography group to move up so that the bird does not get disturbed and every one can have good shots. He not only knew the bird behaviour and also the photographer behaviour and we made the best use of it.

We saw a beautiful male fly across the valley, all of us, photographers were so mesmerised by it, that we forgot to photograph it.
