Polling booths opened at 7 am local time. Polls will close at 10 pm but official results are not expected until Wednesday. The process of forming the govt could drag on for weeks.

About 6.78 million eligible Israeli citizens will elect their 25th Knesset (Israeli Parliament). Opinion polls predict an incredibly close race with mostly predicting another stalemate, but some giving an edge to the right-wing formation led by former PM Benjamin Netanyahu looking to make a comeback.

The prospect of the next govt seems to be largely hinging on two factors, the level of right-wing polarisation, not necessarily in favour of veteran politician Netanyahu but for him to lead the coalition, and the extent of voter apathy, surprisingly, in the Arab sector.

While cordial, the comments at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference showed the stark divide between the US and Gulf Arab countries it supports militarily in the wider Middle East.

Already, American politicians have threatened arms deals with the kingdom and described it as siding with President Putin amid his war on Ukraine.

“We don’t owe it to anybody but us,” the prince said, noting that upcoming UN climate change summits will be held in Egypt and the UAE. “It was done for us, by us, for our future, and we need to commit ourselves to that.”

Emirati Energy Minister Suhail al-Mazrouei echoed that defence. While saying that OPEC and its allies are “only a phone call away if the requirements are there” to raise production, he offered no suggestion such a boost would be on its way anytime soon.

“I can assure you that we in the UAE, as well as our fellow colleagues in OPEC+ are keen on supplying the world with the requirements it needs,” al-Mazrouei said. “But at the same time, we’re not the only producers in the world.”

OPEC and a loose confederation of other countries led by Russia agreed in early Oct to cut its production by 2 million barrels of oil a day, beginning in Nov.

OPEC, led by Saudi Arabia, has insisted its decision came from concerns about the global economy. Analysts in the US and Europe warn a recession looms in the West from inflation and subsequent interest rate hikes, as well as food and oil supplies being affected by Russia’s war on Ukraine.

“The global economy is on the knife’s edge,” - Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, MD of the state-run Abu Dhabi National Oil Co.

American politicians, meanwhile, have reacted angrily to a decision likely to keep gasoline prices elevated. An average gallon of regular gasoline in the US now costs $3.76 down from a record $5 a gallon in June but still high enough to bite into consumers’ wallets. Benchmark Brent crude oil sat at $95 a barrel Monday.

If Saudi Arabia again votes to cut production, it will lead to a further rift with the United States and will signal Riyadh’s growing drift closer to Moscow.

The Workspace Individual account soon will get 1TB of secure cloud storage instead of 15 GB, the report added. Every account will be automatically upgraded from their existing 15GB of storage to 1TB as the company rolls this out, IANS quoted Google in a blogpost.

With this upgrade, most Workspace Individual users won't need to worry about running out of storage space in Gmail and Drive anymore.

Additionally, Google Drive comes with built-in protections against malware, spam, and ransomware, so users need not worry about opening a document and accidentally exposing themselves to malware, the report stated.

With the built-in mail merge update, users can now add mail merge tags like to multi-send emails, so each recipient receives a unique email that feels individually crafted just for them, it added.

However, by default, multi-send emails include an unsubscribe link, allowing recipients to opt out of receiving future messages.

Google is also launching Workspace Individual in some new countries and regions: the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, the Netherlands, Portugal, Belgium, Finland, Greece and Argentina.

The new countries will join a growing list of places business owners can sign up for Workspace Individual, including the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, Australia and six countries across Europe.

With the expansion of Workspace Individual, the company will also be adding more features, including Premium Meet, eSignatures in Google Docs, appointment scheduling, and flexible layouts in Gmail, according to a report, IANS said.

On his first full day as PM, Sunak met his new Cabinet before facing opposition leader Keir Starmer in Prime Minister Questions (PMQs) at midday, the BBC reported. PMQs is a high-profile weekly event in UK politics, happening every Wednesday at noon when the House of Commons is sitting.

For around half an hour, the PM is called to the despatch box in the Commons chamber to answer questions from MPs on any subject. The leader of the opposition gets to ask six questions - normally the rowdiest part of the spectacle.

Sunak on Tuesday unveiled his top team in place with key Cabinet appointments and decided to keep the new Chancellor, Jeremy Hunt, in place for economic stability and brought back Indian-origin Suella Braverman as Home Secretary.

In another move aimed at continuity, James Cleverly will stay in his post as Foreign Secretary despite not being a Sunak loyalist.

Minister Without Portfolio Nadhim Zahawi told journalists the party was very, very united as he departed after the Cabinet meeting at 10 Downing Street. Sunak has pledged to govern with integrity and has tried to unite Conservatives by including people from different wings of the party in his top team. But the Opposition Labour Party has criticised the decision to reappoint Braverman, popular on the Tory right, as a home secretary just six days after she resigned over data breaches, the report said.

Sunak's first Cabinet meeting was held amid criticism over his reappointment of Braverman as home secretary.

Foreign Secretary James Cleverly - who's kept his job under Sunak - has defended the PM's decision to reappoint Braverman to the role of home secretary. Labour's shadow education secretary Bridget Phillipson says Braverman is back in her job as the result of a grubby deal which helped Sunak get over the line and become PM.

Speaking to the Today programme on BBC Radio 4, Phillipson argued that this calls into question Sunak's pledge to run a govt of integrity.

All 36 satellites were injected into the orbits around 75 minutes after the rocket blasted off from the Sriharikota spaceport at 12.07 am.

The KPK govt recently held a meeting with the local commanders of the TTP about ending the menace of terrorism in the province, Saif said, adding that the talks had created an impression on social media that the provincial govt had reached a deal with the militant group about handing over some areas in Malakand division and former FATA to the militant group.

Cars with an electric motor made up 41% of sales in Q2 in Europe, with 9.9% battery-only cars and the rest hybrids that combine electric power with internal combustion, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association.

Gains have come because of regulatory pressure, tax breaks, improving battery range, and a wider range of vehicles to purchase
Analysts at Sanford C. Bernstein research firm wrote, “The electric revolution is in full swing, Car manufacturers are finally pivoting to electric vehicles and consumers are buying every electric vehicle they can find. Electric cars are no longer a niche and Europe will likely lead the way due to tough emissions requirements.

By 2025, they forecast that a quarter of all cars sold worldwide will likely be battery-only or hybrids that combine internal combustion with electric motors.

As the Oddschecker bookies' odds aggregator showed 42-year-old Sunak racing ahead as the favourite to replace 47-year-old Truss, his team is said to be eyeing what would be one of the most remarkable political comebacks in UK politics.

According to insiders, the UK-born Indian-origin politician, who lost to Truss after being the clear frontrunner is steering well clear of any accusations of plotting against Truss as he spends time in his constituency of Richmond in Yorkshire.

Among the possibilities being considered by Tory rebels is to avoid another full-blown leadership election by getting members of Parliament to unite behind one particular candidate.
