New Guidelines for Organizing Public Events
The government has recently issued comprehensive rules and regulations for the organization of public programs. These guidelines are aimed at ensuring public safety, maintaining law and order, and providing a smooth experience for participants.
Key highlights include:
1. Permission & Approval Process – Event organizers must obtain prior permission from the local authorities, including police, municipal bodies, and fire safety departments. All applications must be submitted within the prescribed time frame.
2. Safety & Security – Organizers are required to provide proper security arrangements such as CCTV surveillance, adequate lighting, barricades, emergency exits, and first-aid facilities. Coordination with the police and disaster management teams is mandatory.
3. Crowd Management – Specific limits on the number of participants will be set depending on the venue’s capacity. Organizers must deploy trained volunteers or marshals to manage crowds and avoid congestion.
4. Environmental Responsibility – Restrictions on the use of plastics, firecrackers, and noise pollution will be enforced. Organizers must ensure proper waste management, cleanliness, and eco-friendly practices during and after the event.
5. Traffic & Public Convenience – Adequate parking arrangements, traffic diversions, and transport facilities must be planned in consultation with traffic police. Care should be taken to minimize inconvenience to the general public.
6. Emergency Preparedness – A clear action plan for handling emergencies such as fire, medical emergencies, or stampedes should be in place. Contact numbers of emergency services must be displayed at the venue.
7. Accountability – The responsibility for compliance with these rules lies entirely with the organizers. Any violations may attract penalties, cancellation of permission, or legal action.
