Vishwas Mudagal, the creator of the VMU Superhero Universe, delivers Keynote Speech at NMKRV College, Bengaluru for their Happiness Conclave, a platform that explores happiness through diverse perspectives.

Standing in front of a hall full of young minds always energises me. Because happiness is a topic everyone talks about, but very few truly understand.

Here’s what I shared from my journey as a creator — the risks, the rewrites, the failures, and the courage to build original worlds.

Happiness is NOT a destination.
It’s not applause.
It’s not a title.
It’s not validation.

Happiness is a by-product of creating something meaningful.

And meaning doesn’t happen by accident. It happens by design.

I left the students with a simple 3-point formula:

1. Experiment.
You will never discover what you love or what you’re truly good at, unless you try. I failed at my first startup. I pivoted. I wrote books. I built companies. Experimentation creates clarity.

2. Don’t just chase passion. Pursue talent.
Passion is romantic. Talent is powerful. When you align what you enjoy with what you are naturally good at, you create confidence and that confidence creates happiness.

3. Become damn good at it.
Mastery brings meaning. And yes, make money from it. Let’s stop pretending money doesn’t matter. Financial independence gives dignity, freedom, and stability. Passion without sustainability becomes frustration.

True happiness lies at the intersection of purpose, skill, and prosperity.

I also had the chance to showcase my upcoming novel Rudraman, its trailer, and introduce superheroes from the VMU Superhero Universe. The energy in the room reminded me why original Indian storytelling still moves people.

Grateful for the warm reception, an electric audience, and the roaring applause.
