Can 80’s Colgate, Ingersolrand, and Wipro be replaced by 20’s Nykaa, Policy Bazaar, and Paytm? was the question some market players asked when they were given the rosy pictures about the new age fintech companies during their IPOs a year back. They had proved right when all these IPOs failed to reward a meager return that any debutant can offer in the stock market.

When countered by skeptics about the high valuations, none of the authorities including SEBI, Stock exchanges, and the issue managers took stock of the situation. The issue got through owing to the bullish sentiment prevailing in the markets then. But as of late, everyone is sitting with a pile of loss on the counters.

When the annual budget is presented to the parliament for the year 2022–23, I am glued to the live TV presentation watching patiently through hoping against hope that I will get anything from this year budget. Yes, I am the middle class of this country and responsible for following the rules of the land and liable for a penalty, tax, even punishment. I have a protocol to follow and live accordingly.
I am the highest taxpayer in this country by virtue of my earnings by way of direct taxes, indirect taxes, turnover taxes and other levies. I pay tax even if I have a huge loss for the year as that cannot be claimed back. I am doing business by following what is legal and I always do nothing that government says is illegal. I methodically followed these guidelines that government wants me to abide but I got the result for the same.................

An IPO can be brought with mind blogging valuation by promoters and managers to the issue.
How can listed shares with all fundamentals intact can be brought down to the unimaginable level before they can be disinvested is a million-dollar question?
