Lance Dafadar Baldev Chand (4 RR)

He was part of a team interacting with locals in Kishtwar upper reaches, suddenly he sensed movement of two terrorists (JEM CMDR SAIFULLAH AND ANOTHER FT) who were trying to ambush army team. He quickly engaged the terrorists in hand to hand combat, snatched off and threw a Turkish made pistol from Saifullah and saved own team from any casualties

He punched Saifullah right at his face and broke multiple of his teeth, completely overpowered him

Right then he was shot fatally at his back by the other terrorist

Despite all odds he managed to rescue his brothers and attained veergati

He has been awarded Shaurya Chakra today for his supreme action right at the face of death !!

Meet Lieutenant Commander Suraj Parashar (MARCOS)

Lieutenant Commander Suraj Parashar of the Indian Navy’s elite MARCOS (Marine Commandos) force has been awarded the Shaurya Chakra for his exceptional courage and operational excellence.

During a joint counter-terrorism operation in Kashmir alongside the Indian Army, Lt Cdr Parashar displayed outstanding bravery while engaging heavily armed terrorists. Meet Group Captain Abhimanyu Singh

Group Captain Abhimanyu Singh of the Indian Air Force was awarded the Shaurya Chakra for his exceptional courage, professionalism, and devotion to duty during a critical in-flight emergency.

On 21 November 2024, he was flying a Su-30MKI fighter aircraft on a night training sortie as the aircraft captain while evaluating a trainee pilot. During a demanding manoeuvre, the aircraft’s rear canopy suddenly fractured, causing explosive decompression inside the cockpit. The incident resulted in canopy fragments striking and injuring him, leading to significant bleeding.

Despite his injuries and the challenging circumstances, Group Captain Singh remained composed and immediately took manual control of the aircraft. Demonstrating remarkable flying skill and presence of mind, he stabilised the damaged fighter and safely navigated the emergency situation.

The incident was particularly complex as it occurred at night, involved a damaged aircraft, and had a trainee pilot onboard. Through his swift and decisive actions, he ensured the safety of the trainee pilot and prevented the loss of a valuable Indian Air Force asset.

In recognition of his bravery, outstanding airmanship, and unwavering commitment to duty, Group Captain Abhimanyu Singh was awarded the Shaurya Chakra. The honour was conferred by Droupadi Murmu during the Defence Investiture Ceremony 2026.

His actions stand as a shining example of courage, professionalism, and calm leadership under extreme pressure.
