On this National Handloom Day, we look back on one of our most meaningful storytelling journeys.

MAYA Films was honoured to be chosen as the production enterprise to document the timeless tradition of Loin Loom weaving in Arunachal Pradesh through a one-of-a-kind documentary commissioned by the Department of Information, Government of Arunachal Pradesh. The film also captures the inspiring vision of the then First Lady of Arunachal Pradesh, Ms. Neelam Misra, in taking this local tradition to the global stage.

For over 25 years, Team Maya has been privileged to be a part of the Ramakrishna Ashrama’s journey, capturing stories and milestones that inspire generations.

As part of the Ashrama’s remarkable 100-year celebration, our film was screened for the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during the inauguration of Viveka Smaraka. On this special occasion, our founder, Maya Chandra, was felicitated by the Ashrama.
This recognition belongs to every member of Team Maya who worked tirelessly on this project — bringing together creativity, dedication and passion to tell a story that will be cherished for years to come.

Created for the exclusive screening to our Hon’ble Prime Minister during the inauguration of Viveka Smaraka, this film is inspired by the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and reflects the centre’s commitment to nurturing not only academic excellence but also character, purpose and service to society.

This film is our tribute to a vision that continues to shape the leaders of tomorrow.

A proud moment for Team Maya as we had the honour of capturing the inauguration of Viveka Smaraka – Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre, Mysuru, a historic occasion graced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.

Seeing our work featured during such a significant milestone is a moment of immense pride and gratitude for our entire team.

This achievement is even more special because of our long-standing association of over 25 years with the Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru. Over the years, Team Maya has had the privilege of documenting several landmark moments, including the historic 50-year celebration of Sri Ramakrishna Vidyashala, Mysuru.

From preserving memories to capturing milestones that become a part of history, we are grateful for the continued trust and association with the Ramakrishna Ashrama.
