Family is your cusion not your cage.

In traditional Indian families, elders often played a strong role in important decisions — from education and career to marriage and life choices.

Today, social media can make this sound like “control” or “interference.”

But look at it from another perspective.

If you can accept a boss making decisions, giving directions and expecting you to follow a certain path at work, why is it so difficult to see a father or an elder taking a decision for the family from a place of experience and responsibility?

The Indian family system has also traditionally been a cushion for its children.

Because you know your family has your back, you can take risks, try something new, fail, start again and still have a support system to fall back on.

That security can give you the courage to explore life.

Maybe family support was never meant to hold you back.

Maybe it was meant to give you the confidence to fly.

Today, while recording a very special conversation on Shri Krishna and Janmashtami, I had the privilege of tying a Rakhi to Omkareshwar Prabhuji. 🙏
For me, Rakhi is not merely a thread. It is a beautiful expression of respect, trust, affection and the promise of a lifelong bond.
