Banihal Police Recover Stolen Motorcycle from Kokernag, Case Registered under FIR No. 139/2026

Banihal, Ramban: Police Station Banihal has successfully traced and recovered a stolen motorcycle from Kokernag in a case registered vide FIR No. 139/2026. The recovery was made on 05 July 2026 based on a specific tip-off, with the motorcycle traced to the possession of Mudassir Ahmad Bhat S/o Mohammad Yaqoob Bhat, R/o Bindoo, Kokernag.
The recovered motorcycle belonged to Nasrullah Bhat S/o Mohammad Amin Bhat, R/o Bankoot, Banihal, who had reported the theft to Police Station Banihal. Acting on the complaint, a case was registered and investigation was taken up to trace the vehicle and those involved.
Following credible information regarding the whereabouts of the stolen motorcycle, a team from Police Station Banihal, in close coordination with the Station House Officer of Police Station Kokernag, conducted a joint operation that led to the successful recovery of the vehicle.
Police officials stated that further investigation into the matter is underway to ascertain the full circumstances of the theft and to take appropriate legal action against those found responsible.
The Police reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of public property and appreciated the inter-district coordination between Police Station Banihal and Police Station Kokernag that led to the swift recovery.
