Srinagar, Mar 31 (KNO): A teenage girl was found hanging at her residence in Lajoora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that 13-year-old girl was found hanging inside her home in Lajoora today.

He said that her body was later taken to CHC Lajoora by locals.

*War against drug continues in Baramulla*

*Baramulla Police arrests 08 miscreants who disturbed law and order at Nowshera Boniyar to aid notoroious drug smuggler Tauqeer Ahmad Magray of Nowshera who was booked under PIT-NDPS Act*

On *29/03/2023*, some *miscreants of village Nowshera Boniyar blocked national highway at Nowshera for about 2 hours and disturbed law and order to aid a drug smuggler namely Tauqeer Ahmad Magray S/O Bashir Ahmad Magray R/O Nowshera Baramulla* who was detained under *PIT NDPS Act and lodged in Central Jail Kot Balwal Jammu*.

To this effect, case *FIR under relevant sections of law* was registered in *Police Station Boniyar* and investigation was taken up.

During course of investigation, *Police through human and technical intelligence identified these miscreants and arrested these miscreants who were involved in comission of the crime and were taken into custody immediately*.

The arrested persons were identified as *1. Riyaz Ahmad S/O Mohd Mukhtar Mir 2. Mashood Yasin Mir S/O Mohd Yasin Mir 3. Ghulam Rasool Sofi S/O Abdul Gafoor Sofi 4. Showkat Ahmad S/O Abdul Gaffar 5. Tasleem Ahmad S/O Ali Mohammad 6. Parvez Ahmad S/O Abdul Aziz 7. Manzoor Ahmad S/O Ali mohamad 8. Abdul Majeed Naikoo S/O Abdul Rehman all residents of Village Nowshera*.

*People are once again requested to support police to eradicate menance of drugs in the society and restrain themselves to indulge in these activities which are against the society*.

Son allegedly kills his mother in Sopore,

A son has allegedly killed his mother in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police station sopore headed by SHO Khalid Fayaz arrested the accused within hours of crime, reports said.

Reports reaching Asian News Hub (ANH) said that a man allegedly kills her mother in Dangepora area of Sopore.

They said that after the incident, Sopore police station registered the case and arrested the accused within hours.

Meanwhile the body of lady has been shifted to Sub-district hospital sopore for medico-legal formalities.

*Baramula Police booked 3 Notorious Drug Peddlers namely Maroof Ahmad Khan, Tawqeer Bashir Magray & Mohd Altaf Chopan under J&K PIT NDPS Act*

Acting tough against drug peddlers and to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, *Baramulla Police* booked notorious drug smuggler namely *Maroof Ahmad Khan S/O Mohd Younis Khan R/O Ramgai Uri, Tawqeer Bashir Magray S/O Bashir Ahmad Magray R/O Nowshera Boniyar & Mohd Altaf Chopan S/O Mohd Ahsan Chopan R/O Kanispora Baramulla* under *J&K PIT NDPS Act* after obtaining formal *detention orders from the competent Authority*.

The *booked drug peddlers* have been detained and subsequently lodged in *Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jail Jammu*.

Pertinent to mention that *many cases are registered against these drug peddlers* and were involved in *promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Uri, Nowshera, Boniyar, Baramulla and other areas of District Baramulla*. Despite their *involvement in many FIR's* they did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.

General public of Baramulla appreciated the role of Police for their action against drug peddler. Baramulla Police's consistent actions against the drug peddlers should reassure the community members that Baramulla police is making all efforts to keep our society free from drug abuse.

*INDIAN ARMY ORGANISES INTER SCHOOL QUIZ COMPETITION AT BATPORA*

Education is one of the most important aspects of growing up. It is the process of acquiring knowledge and skill for a profession. It helps develop the power of reasoning and judgement and prepares oneself for a mature life. A quiz is one of the oldest and fastest methods of testing the academic knowledge of students.

Indian army continuing with its efforts to engage youth in co-curriculum activities organised an *Inter School Quiz Competition * in which *24 boys and girls* from *six* different schools of *Batpora* participated.

The quiz was planned with 25 questions from different categories namely current affairs, geography, Bollywood, cricket and Kashmir. In the end a rapid fire round of 5 questions was played to decide the winner. The participants and audience thoroughly enjoyed the competition and were cheering their respective teams with full Josh and spirit.

In the thrilling and nail biting competition Govt Boys High School, Batpora defeated Shiekh ul Alam Public School with just one point to win the competition.

First two teams were rewarded with medals and gifts. One best player from each team was also rewarded. The teachers and students were thankful to the Indian Army for the event and requested for more such events in future.

Sopore Police seeks help of general public to trace out the missing lady namely Shaista Hassan Shah (36) R/O Tragpora Rafiabad.

Police Post Watergam received an application from one Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad Shah S/O Ghulam Muhammad Shah R/O Tragpora Rafiabad stating that his wife mentioned above left her maternal home today 10:00 am, neither reached their nor returned back.
