Peaceful Protest Held at Asia’s Second-Largest Fruit Mandi in Sopore Over National Highway Blockade

Sopore, September 15, 2025:
A peaceful protest was held today at Asia’s second-largest fruit mandi located in Sopore, Jammu and Kashmir, by fruit growers, traders, and transporters. The protest was organized in response to the repeated blockades on the National Highway, which have severely impacted the transportation of perishable fruit produce to various markets across the country.

*“Supreme Sacrifice Will Inspire Generations”: Prominent Activist Sheikh Muneer Pays Tribute to DySP Humayun Bhat*

Baramulla J&K, Sept 13: Prominent social and political activist Sheikh Muneer on Saturday paid glowing tributes to Deputy Superintendent of Police Humayun Muzammil Bhat on his martyrdom anniversary, recalling his supreme sacrifice at Anantnag on 13 September 2023.

In his statement, Sheikh Muneer described DySP Bhat as a dedicated officer who demonstrated “unwavering commitment and exceptional courage” by leading from the front in the face of grave danger. For his exemplary bravery, DySP Bhat was posthumously honoured with the Kirti Chakra, India’s second-highest peacetime gallantry award.

“While his loss is deeply felt across the police force and society at large, his legacy continues to inspire our service, guide our duty, and uphold the eternal values of honour and sacrifice,” Sheikh Muneer said.

DySP Humayun Muzammil Bhat laid down his life during an encounter with terrorists in Anantnag district on 13 September 2023, leaving behind a shining example of courage and devotion to duty that will be remembered for generations.

Inauguration of 3rd National Lok Adalat at District Court Complex, Baramulla

Baramulla, 13th September 2025:
The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Baramulla, in collaboration with the District Judiciary Baramulla, today hosted the inauguration of the 3rd National Lok Adalat at the District Court Complex, Baramulla. The event was graced by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul, Judge of the High Court of Jammu & Ladakh and Administrative Judge for District Baramulla, who attended as the Chief Guest.

Upon his arrival, Hon’ble Justice Koul was warmly received by the legal fraternity and formally inaugurated the National Lok Adalat. The ceremony witnessed the esteemed presence of:
