Who Really Created Goa’s Famous Miramar Twin Statues? We Found the Workshop!
For decades, lakhs of people have driven past these two famous bronze statues at Miramar Circle. But very few know who actually created them. Official records name sculptor Vishnu Mahadev Cuncolkar as their creator. But when I went to Curchorem to get a duplicate key made, I stumbled upon the very workshop where these iconic statues were brought to life. And there, I met the sculptor’s son, Dinesh Mangesh Bandodkar—who showed me evidence that could challenge the popular version of the story.

What we have in the name of smart bus shelters is nothing more than a steel frame, insufficient to protect commuters from the rain or the sun, let alone provide information about bus services. Instead of proper seating, there is just a steel pipe in place of a bench.
