R K Kalsotra, State President of the All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC/Minority Organisations, demanded representation of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, minority communities, and women in the higher judiciary during a press conference in Jammu. He highlighted that no member of the Scheduled Caste and Sikh community has become a judge in the Jammu and Kashmir High Court since its establishment in 1928. The Confederation also requested the installation of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's statue and urged the Chief Justice of India to look into the pending reservation promotion policy and SC-ST atrocities cases in the Jammu and Kashmir High Court.

*SAMBA POLICE FOILS BOVINE SMUGGLING ATTEMPT; RESCUES 10 BOVINES, SEIZES VEHICLE*

Samba, July 26, 2025: Continuing its drive against bovine smugglers and their propagators, Samba Police has successfully foiled a bovine smuggling attempt in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal and rescued ten bovines from the clutches of bovine smugglers. The vehicle used in the illegal transportation of bovines has been seized.

Acting on information received from reliable sources, a team of Police Station Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty at NHW Naka Tapyal, signaled to stop a Dumper bearing registration No. JK02CG-8174 for its checking. During checking of the vehicle, ten bovines were found inside the vehicle which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.

A case FIR No. 76/2025 u/s 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
