গায়ক জ়ুবিন গার্গের মৃ/ত্যু ঘিরে এখনও ধোঁয়াশা। ইতিমধ্যেই সাত জনকে গ্রে/ফ/তা/র করা হয়েছে। স্বামীর আকস্মিক মৃ/ত্যু মেনে নিতে পারছেন না গায়কপত্নী গরিমা শঈকীয়া। বিচার চান তিনি। এর মাঝে যত বার সংবাদমাধ্যমের সামনে এসেছেন, তাঁকে সিঁদুরপরা অবস্থাতেই দেখা গিয়েছে। গায়কের মৃ/ত্যু/র ২০ দিন কেটে যাওয়ার পরেও কেন সিঁদুর পরছেন তিনি? প্রশ্ন তুলেছেন নিন্দকেরা। জবাব দিলেন গরিমা।

তারকাপত্নী হলেও থেকেছেন আড়ালে। অসমের ‘হার্টথ্রব’ জ়ুবিনের সঙ্গে ভালবেসে বিয়ে। প্রেমেও যদিও টালমাটাল পরিস্থিতি এসেছিল। একটা সময় ভেবেছিলেন সম্পর্ক ভেঙে বেরিয়ে আসবেন। মাসখানেক আলাদা থাকার পর ফের একে অপরের কাছে আসেন তাঁরা। জ়ুবিনের মৃ/ত্যু/র পর বার বার গায়কের কথা বলতে গিয়ে চোখ ভিজেছে গরিমার। এ দিকে স্বামীর মৃ/ত্যু/র পরও গরিমার সিঁথিতে সিঁদুর দেখে অনেকেই সমালোচনা শুরু করেছেন। তাঁদের উদ্দেশে গরিমা বলেন, ‘‘আমি সিঁথি ছুঁয়ে প্রতিজ্ঞা করেছি, এই সিঁদুর সারাজীবন পরে থাকব। যত দিন না পর্যন্ত ফের আমার আর জ়ুবিনের দেখা হচ্ছে, আমি সিঁদুর পরব।’’

অসমের গোলাঘাটের মেয়ে গরিমা, পেশায় পোশাকশিল্পী। শোনা যায়, গরিমাই প্রথম জ়ুবিনের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগের চেষ্টা করেন। চিঠি পাঠিয়েছিলেন তিনি গায়ককে। ‘অনামিকা’ ও ‘মায়া’ অ্যালবাম শুনে মুগ্ধ হয়েছিলেন গরিমা। তখন তিনি মুম্বইয়ে পড়াশোনা করছেন। শোনা যায়, সব অনুরাগিণীর চিঠির জবাব দিতেন না জ়ুবিন। তবে ভাগ্যক্রমে গরিমার চিঠির উত্তর দিয়েছিলেন। সেখান থেকেই শুরু প্রেম, তার পর দীর্ঘ চড়াই-উতরাই পেরিয়ে ২০০২ সালে বিয়ে করেন তাঁরা।
