ਸ਼ਿਵ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਬਟਾਲਵੀ (1936–1973) ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਕਵੀ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ “ਬਿਰਹਾ ਦਾ ਸੁਲਤਾਨ” ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਉਹ ਸਿਆਲਕੋਟ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਬਰਾ ਪਿੰਡ (ਹੁਣ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ) ਵਿੱਚ ਜੰਮੇ। ਵੰਡ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਬਟਾਲਾ ਆ ਗਏ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ, ਵਿਛੋੜਾ ਅਤੇ ਦਰਦ ਦੀ ਝਲਕ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਹਨ – ਪੀੜਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਾਗਾ, ਲਾਜਵੰਤੀ, ਬਿਰਹਾ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਲਤਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਲੂਣਾ। “ਲੂਣਾ” ਲਈ 1967 ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਅਕਾਦਮੀ ਇਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਕਰਤਾ ਬਣੇ।

ਮੌਤ 6 ਮਈ 1973 ਨੂੰ, ਸਿਰਫ 36 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਛੋਟੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਅਮਰ ਰੂਪ ਬਣ ਗਏ।...... great shiv kumar btalavi👑🫀
