We know that there are four Father-Son pairs who have won the Nobel Prize in . I have posted about the three pairs. Now, here, this is 4th article (& last article). But don't forget, today is the announcement day for Physics Nobel Prize Winners of this year 2022.

This article is about two Swedish physicists Karl Manne Georg Siegbahn (father) & Kai Manne Börje Siegbahn (son).

was an experimental physicist who understood electron shell system experimentally by means of x-ray spectroscopy. He won the Nobel Prize in 1924 for his precision measurements that drove many developments in quantum theory and atomic physics.

shared the 1981 Nobel Prize in Physics (received 1/2 of the prize) for his contribution to the development of high-resolution electron spectroscopy.

Argon, the first noble gas in the periodic table to be isolated, was named after the Greek word for lazy after it was found to be totally unreactive. William Ramsay and Lord Rayleigh earned the 1904 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and Physics respectively for its discovery.

The pair’s discovery made them realise that the recently formed periodic table was missing a whole class of elements – the inert noble gases. After isolating another noble gas – helium – Ramsay predicted others based on the periodic table and went on to establish the existence of neon ('the new one'), krypton ('the hidden one') and xenon ('the strange one').

Hi**er ਵੱਲੋ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ। ਯੂਕਰੇਨ ਵਿੱਚ, ਹੋਲੋਕਾਸਟ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਨਾਜ਼ੀ ਨਜ਼ਰਬੰਦੀ ਕੈਂਪਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ਨ 400,000 ਯਹੂਦੀ ਲੋਕ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ। ਔਸਤਨ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਦਿਨ ਲਗਭਗ 1,864 ਯਹੂਦੀ ਲੋਕ ਮਾਰੇ ਗਏ। ਸਰਬਨਾਸ਼ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਤਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਸਹੀ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਿਆ। ਯੂਕਰੇਨ ਵਿੱਚ 750 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਸਮੂਹਿਕ ਕਬਰਾਂ ਹਨ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਪੰਜ ਜਾਂ ਵੱਧ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮੂਹਿਕ ਟੋਇਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਰਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਿੱਠ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੋਲੀ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ। 5,000 ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਯੂਕਰੇਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਟੋਇਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਰਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਾ ਸਾੜਨ ਲਈ ਅੱਗ ਦੇ ਟੋਇਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

ਨਾਜ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ "ਬੇਕਸੂਰ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਸਹਾਰਾ ਪੀੜਤਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਅਪਰਾਧਿਕ ਹਮਲਾ" [5] ਅਤੇ ਪੀੜਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ "ਕੁੱਟਿਆ, ਡੋਬਿਆ, ਕੋਰੜੇ ਮਾਰਿਆ, ਗੋਲੀ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ, ਭੱਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਗਲਾ ਘੁੱਟਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਗੈਸ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ" [3] ਇਹਨਾਂ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਨਸੀ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ ਜਾਂ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਜੋ "ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਣਨ ਅੰਗਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ।"[6] ਨਾਜ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ 'ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ' ਤਰੀਕਾ ਸੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁਭਕਾਮਨਾਵਾਂ ਦੇਣਾ। ਨਾਜ਼ੀ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਸਲਕੁਸ਼ੀ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸੀ।

ਨਾਜ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਦੇ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਨਾਜ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਆਮਦਨੀ ਖੋਹ ਲਈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਰਬਨਾਸ਼ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਔਖਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।[9] ਨਾਜ਼ੀਆਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਰਬਨਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਪੀੜਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ "ਜਨਤਕ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਤਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ" ਵਜੋਂ ਵਰਣਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। 1940 ਅਤੇ 1945 ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਨਾਜ਼ੀ ਕੈਂਪ ਆਉਸ਼ਵਿਟਜ਼ ਸੀ; ਜਿੱਥੇ "ਘੱਟੋ-ਘੱਟ ਦਸ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਜੰਗੀ ਕੈਦੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ"।[11] ਇਸ ਤਸ਼ੱਦਦ ਕੈਂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਪਸੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਲਿੰਗੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਹੱਤਿਆ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। "ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਨਾਜ਼ੀ ਕੈਂਪ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੋਏ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸਮਲਿੰਗੀ, ਯਹੂਦੀ, ਰੋਮਾ, ਜਾਂ ਸਿੰਟੀ, ਬਚੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ"[1]

ਇੱਥੇ ਕੁਝ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਨਾਜ਼ੀ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਜਾਮ ਦੇਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਤਮ ਸਨ। ਓਸਵਾਲਡ ਕਡੁਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਰਬਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਅਭਿਆਸਾਂ ਲਈ ਬਦਨਾਮ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸਨੇ ਆਸ਼ਵਿਟਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਦੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਤਸ਼ੱਦਦ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ। ਇੱਕ ਤਸੀਹੇ ਦੀ ਤਕਨੀਕ ਜੋ ਉਸਨੇ ਵਰਤੀ ਸੀ "ਇੱਕ ਕੈਦੀ ਦੀ ਗਰਦਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਛੜੀ ਪਾਉਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕੈਦੀ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਤੱਕ ਇਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਰਿਹਾ।" ਉਹ ਬੇਤਰਤੀਬੇ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਕੈਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੋਲੀ ਮਾਰਦਾ ਸੀ "ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ"। ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਹੀ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਜੋ ਜਰਮਨ ਫ਼ੌਜਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਾ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਕ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਉਸ ਘਾਟੋ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿਚ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਵਿਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਧੀ ਜੀਣਗੀਆਂ। ਉਸਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਧੀ ਦੀ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਗੈਸ ਚੈਂਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਧੱਕਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।

"Gawalmandi"

it is a town located in the central part of Lahore. It is regarded as the cultural centre of Lahore. The famous Food Street of Lahore is located here. Gawalmandi is a made of two words Gawala meaning Milkman and Mandi meaning Market. Formally Gawalmandi was one of the largest buffalo milk producing market in Punjab, until large number of Kashmiris started settling in after 1947.

Historical Placesof Gawalmandi:
The area of Gawalmandi is surrounded by four road making an irregular trapezium. 3 out of four roads are named after Lords of British Empire such as:
1. Lord Nisbet
2. Lord Chamberlain
3. Lord McLeod.
At the end of Nisbet road and just at the junction of Qilla Gujr Singh neighbourhood. The square is called Lakshmi chowk named after the Lakshmi building of the same name. However both the name and building has now been renovated and renamed as Maulana Zafar Ali Chowk respectively for increasing demand of name change by the locals. Lahore third largest flea market is located at Gawalmandi chowk.
King Edward Medical University, which is the second oldest medical college in the Indo-Pak subcontinent after King Edward College in Pakistan is also found here. Mayo Hospital, which is largest tertiary care hospital in South Asia is located here as well, situated between Gawalmandi and the famous Anarkali bazaar.
The tomb of Shah Abdul-Maali is located within the vicinity of town as well as one of the oldest mosque called "Mai Laado" (Elder lady Laado) is located near Mayo Hospital.

Khawaja Shakeel, the chairman of the Gawalmandi food street says,
“After partition, Gawalmandi was the first properly developed area outside of the walled city in Lahore. It had already become a residential community after 1911. Later on, it was the Gulberg of its time,” Shakeel explains.

According to Shakeel, the families who migrated to Lahore from Amritsar and other nearby cities settled in Gawalmandi. Among them were craftsmen and even some businessmen. A lack of employment opportunities for the newly-arrived families meant that some of the individuals started setting up small shops in front of their houses. The skillful craftsmen made a living through their trade while some of the individuals put up food stalls along the streets.

For instance, the Sikhs from Amritsar who settled in Gawalmandi introduced gram flour-coated fried fish. This was the famous 'Sardar Fish'. The recipe has almost become an identity of Lahore now."
Similarly, barbeque techniques and various types of falooda were introduced by the families whose ancestors were PEHLWANS. The KASHMIRIS brought with them Hareesa. The rich doodh-jalebi concoction also found fame in Gawalmandi and the diverse population each brought something unique.
