Obituary: Dr. Dileep Kadam, A Pillar of Medicine and Compassion
Pune: It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Dileep Kadam, a revered figure in the medical community, who left us on September 22, 2025. He was 69 years old. Dr. Kadam, originally from Mujawar Galli, Belgaum, had made Pune his home for many years. He is survived by his beloved wife, his son Dr. Soham Kadam (MBBS, MD), and his daughter-in-law.
Dr. Kadam was a distinguished medical professional, having served with distinction as the Head of the Department of Medicine at both Sassoon Hospital and B.J. Medical College in Pune. He was also associated with the Department of Medicine at Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical College and General Hospital. Throughout his illustrious career, he mentored countless students, shaping the next generation of medical practitioners, and provided healing and comfort to innumerable patients.
Beyond his exceptional medical career, Dr. Kadam was deeply committed to social service. Known for his compassionate nature, he was always ready to extend a helping hand to those in need, often providing free treatment to underprivileged patients. His dedication to serving the community, coupled with his medical expertise, made him a true humanitarian.
Dr. Kadam was also an active contributor to medical research, participating in significant studies concerning critical health issues such as COVID-19, Tuberculosis, and HIV. His valuable contributions to medical science earned him international recognition, and he proudly represented India on various visits to countries including the USA.
Dr. Dileep Kadam's passing is an immense loss to the medical fraternity and the community he served so selflessly. His legacy of medical excellence, compassionate care, and unwavering commitment to social service will forever be remembered and cherished.
