Obituary: Dr. Dileep Kadam, A Pillar of Medicine and Compassion

Pune: It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Dileep Kadam, a revered figure in the medical community, who left us on September 22, 2025. He was 69 years old. Dr. Kadam, originally from Mujawar Galli, Belgaum, had made Pune his home for many years. He is survived by his beloved wife, his son Dr. Soham Kadam (MBBS, MD), and his daughter-in-law.

Dr. Kadam was a distinguished medical professional, having served with distinction as the Head of the Department of Medicine at both Sassoon Hospital and B.J. Medical College in Pune. He was also associated with the Department of Medicine at Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical College and General Hospital. Throughout his illustrious career, he mentored countless students, shaping the next generation of medical practitioners, and provided healing and comfort to innumerable patients.

Beyond his exceptional medical career, Dr. Kadam was deeply committed to social service. Known for his compassionate nature, he was always ready to extend a helping hand to those in need, often providing free treatment to underprivileged patients. His dedication to serving the community, coupled with his medical expertise, made him a true humanitarian.

Dr. Kadam was also an active contributor to medical research, participating in significant studies concerning critical health issues such as COVID-19, Tuberculosis, and HIV. His valuable contributions to medical science earned him international recognition, and he proudly represented India on various visits to countries including the USA.

Dr. Dileep Kadam's passing is an immense loss to the medical fraternity and the community he served so selflessly. His legacy of medical excellence, compassionate care, and unwavering commitment to social service will forever be remembered and cherished.

Do not believe in Superstition. We were reported about a superstition at Vaccine Depot today where in two coconuts were wrapped with threads covered in red cloth along with a lemon. We removed the cloth, cracked open the coconuts also ate some Khobra. We also stepped onto the lemon. If we are mentally strong, no negative energy can harm us.

TEN LONG YEARS.

It's been ten long years.
Even today through my eyes, flow tears.

Time flew, so very much quickly.
What happened that day, remember it slowly.

Still feel that, it happened, so very much recently.
All of a sudden realized, she is sleeping peacefully.

You left us, when you were just, nineteen and a half years.
Sometimes think, what would have been, if you were here.

Would have completed your degree and post graduation.
Everyone would have been happy and a grand celebration.

Always wished she would get a job and go abroad.
So that we could go there to stay and applaud.

After settling in your professional career, would have been married.
Since your birth about your marriage, I was always worried.

If you would be in this world with me.
By now at least your two children could see.

Your sudden absence has made a vaccum in our life.
Many a times by remembering you, cry along with my wife.

Still remember the wonderful times, together we had spend.
Your beautiful memories, along with me will only end.

Although you are back, in the form of my grandson.
While holding him in my arms, your memories come.

I would have not written any poems, if you were here.
But The Almighty, wanted you to be with him my dear.

It's been ten long years.
Even today through my eyes, flow tears.
