Doda Police Recover 5–6 Grams of Heroin-Like Substance in Bhaderwah - One Person Arrested

In a significant operation today during routine Naka checking at Nalthi Naka, Bhaderwah, Doda Police apprehended an individual suspected of carrying illegal drugs. While monitoring a queue of vehicles, officers noticed a pedestrian disembark from an unidentified vehicle and head towards Bhaderwah town. The individual exhibited signs of nervousness upon spotting police and attempted to flee.
Police personnel swiftly intercepted the individual for questioning. A thorough search revealed a brownish substance, suspected to be he**in, weighing approximately 5–6 grams, concealed in transparent polythene, in his possession.
The suspect has been identified as Farooq Ali, son of Teg Ali, a resident of Nagri, Kathua. A case has been registered at Police Station Bhaderwah under FIR No. 109/2025, citing Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act. The contraband has been confiscated, adhering to all legal protocols. The accused is currently in custody, and a detailed investigation is underway, focusing on establishing both forward and backward linkages in the drug trade.
This operation is part of Doda Police's ongoing initiative to combat drug peddling, manufacturing, and the illegal sale of narcotics in the district.
