Born on May 14, 1933, in Canton, China, Ken H. Leung lived there until the death of his father in 1945. He then went to live with relatives in Hong Kong where he made friends with young artists, as he began to be fascinated with art. Soon he became a self-taught artist himself, beginning to get well known in the artist community.
Né le 14 mai 1933, à Canton, en Chine, Ken H. Leung y vécut jusqu'à la mort de son père en 1945. Puis il part s’installer chez des parents à Hong Kong où il devient ami avec de jeunes artistes. C’est là qu’il commence à être fasciné par l'Art. Il devient bientôt un artiste autodidacte à part entière, commençant à être reconnu au sein de sa communauté d'artistes.
He married in Hong Kong is 1957, and in 1958 his first son, Thomas Shu Pong was born. In 1960, H. Leung's first oil paintings went on display in a Hong Kong gallery. By 1961, his fishing villages and coastal community scenes had become a sensation in art circles, and the leading art gallery of Hong Kong started to represent his art.
Il se marie à Hong Kong en 1957, et en 1958, naît son premier fils, Thomas Shu Pong. En 1960, les premières peintures à l'huile de H. Leung sont exposées dans une galerie à Hong Kong. H. Leung began travel for exhibition of his oils all over the world, and he received numerous honors and distinctions in many countries. He became a resident of the United States in 1978, and a citizen in 1988. He makes his home in the San Francisco Bay Area in California.
H. Leung commence à voyager pour exposer ses peintures à l’huile partout dans le monde, et reçoit de multiples prix et distinctions dans de nombreux pays. Il devient résident des États-Unis en 1978, puis citoyen en 1988. Il s’est installé dans la baie de San Francisco en Californie.
Today H. Leung exhibits his artwork at prestigious art galleries not only in the United States but throughout the world. His first images were published in 1961, and since then demand for his limited editions has steadily increased in the United States as well as in Europe and Asia.
Aujourd'hui H. Leung présente ses œuvres dans de prestigieuses galeries d'art non seulement aux États-Unis, mais partout dans le monde.
